My grandfather has invited me to go ice fishing today. This is a grand honor, for I have never been invited. Today, I become a man. Girl. Woman. Man. Whatever.
Basically, ice fishing is where you drill a hole in the ice, stick some fishing line down, and try to make the bait on end look as appetizing as possible. Usually this bait is live maggots. They're cool. When they're frozen they don't move for crap, but if you apply some heat they start wrigling away. It's really gross awesome.
So, has anyone else in this guild been ice fishing? How many fish have you caught? (none here, lol) How about regular fishing? Got any fun fishing stories to tell?

Considering there is no ice here ever thicker than a piece of paper? I really don't think ice fishing is a possibility. Now maybe if I went north a bit...
I went fishing in a pond once. With a stick. And a string. And I didn't catch anything. crying I couldn't understand why.
And my brothers laughed at me because they had real fishing poles and all I had was a stick. It was a very emo day for young little Pepper.
I think that's the only day in my life I actually tried fishing. xD After that I decided I was too impatient.

There's no ice around where I live, though. I've been fishing in lakes and stuff but I never caught anything ever. ;_; Only seaweed and rocks. I suck.

I CAUGHT A FISH. IT WAS THE FIRST AND THE BIGGEST. MY GRANDMA CAUGHT TWO OTHERS, AND MY GRANDPA CAUGHT NONE.

The Hero of Light I've caught a fish before. I ate him. (: I get to eat mine too! biggrin Hopefully mother gets some fries on her way home today. I didn't get to use maggots, and this really HUEG fish (hueger than xbawks) went right past my line, but I still caught the first and the biggest! And the least bloodiest. ): Fish blood is gross.

XD I went ice fishing every year from ages 6 to 15.
But ice fishing isn't about catching fish... It's about hanging out with friends/relitives and eating and drinking...
I know this because in all those years only I ever caught anything. XD
Once. It was a pretty lil' rainbow trout. (It never made it off the lake... It was yummy. XD)
I really need to go out ice fishing again... It's tons of fun if you know what's what. 3nodding

My buddies and I should totally take a trip to Alaska so that we can ice fish.
And wrangle us up some polar bears and race!!!

Hence why I said that they were drowning. They don't have the energy to swim, considering they're dying from starvation because they can't properly hunt seals. ): [/sadrealization]
