Chapter 1
Charlie drew pictures in the sand. He tried to write his name but as soon as he ran his fingers through the hot mineral it would sink back in it's place. He scribbled it out with his palm and wiped off the rough substance off his hands. "Hello Charlie." Desmond gave him a weak half smile as he walked by. He carlessly rolled up the sleeves of his dark blue polo shirt. "Hey." Charlie responded and resisted the urge to itch the bug bite on his arm. "Would you like to take a walk, theres something i would like to show you." He didn't look at Charlie and squinted into the path of the bright sun as he made a shield for his eyes with his hands.
"Which would be what?" Charlie said slightly confused and examined the condition of his jeans, faded at the knees.
"It would be something i would just rather show you, now." Desmond looked at Charlie sharply and sounded annoyed briefly at the beginning of his scentence.
Charlie threw back his head and sighed and stood up and quickly wiped the sand off his jeans.
"So where are we taking a stroll to?" Charlie said hesitently noticing Desmonds expression slowly fading from friendly to annoyed.
"Enough questions Charlie." Desmond said sharply and began walking faster in violent movements.
"Alright, alright." Charlie repeated the word several times looking down at the sand before realizing Desmond was far ahead.
Puzzled, Charlie ran after him, before Charlie could reach him, Desmond stopped short and grabbed on to Charlie's arm violently and pulled him forward.
Desmond quickly lifted his index finger to his lips motioning him to keep quiet and turned his head and pointed to the right.
Charlie gazed around the right side of the jungle but saw nothing but the different shades of green painted on the leaves being reflected off the hot sun.
Charlie opened his mouth to speak but stopped when he realized what Desmond was pointing to.
A dozen of people of different sizes walked along a path perfectly aligned after one another. Dirt was carlessly painted along their arms and legs, different patterns on each person.
Charlie looked at Desmond confused as what to do.
