i live in a neighborhood near a lake; two thirds of the properties are seasonal cottages and one third are year round residences.
three blocks away there is a cpe cod style house where i have never seen cars or people. for instance, now that it's winter, there are never tire tracks going in or out (and there's no place to park on the road in front).
yet there is a lighted lamp on the front porch that never goes out! night after night, month after month, it keeps burnig, and no one is there to replace the bulb!
also there is a helium balloon floating on the porch, pink and blue like the gaia event balloon, and in two years it has not deflated.
i would appreciate any non-scary explanations.

Are there any footprints? Can other people see this light and balloon? If the answer to these questions are no... then there are no non-scary explanations that I can think of. Unless you want crazy sci-fi ones that likely don't exist, and are even less plausible than a haunted house.
