Kitchens & Corridors

As large as the Great Hall and located directly below it are the Kitchens. The ceilings here are high and there is a large fireplace at one end. Decorating the walls are heaps of brass pots and pans. There are preparation tables directly below the four House tables, that way when it comes time for food to be served, it is magically transported through the ceiling of the Kitchens and onto the plates above. The Kitchen is staffed by over one hundred house-elves.

To get here, one can take the door to the right of the main staircase in the Entrance Hall. One follows the corridor until one comes across a painting of a bowl of fruit. If one tickles the pear, it giggles and becomes a door handle.

There are also different corridors one can take in order to get to the Kitchens, including one that has a monopoly of pictures of food on the wall, where, at the end, is a door to the Kitchens. Also, if one goes down a flight of stone steps, into a broad stone corridor, decorated with brightly lit torches, one will find oneself at a door to the Kitchen.
