This vast chamber is complete with an enchanted ceiling that mirrors the sky outside. Sometimes it can be changed to mirror a scenery pertaining to the spell-caster's liking.
There are four long tables at which members of the four Houses sit during meals. Closest to the doors from the Entrance Hall is Slytherin, then Ravenclaw, then Hufflepuff, and lastly, Gryffindor [which is therefore located near the far wall].
The teachers sit at the High Table, located on a raised platform at the front of the room. Behind this table, there is a smaller antechamber in which there is a fireplace and many different portraits.
