i desided to fence a diffrent style, i desided to try the italian grip (they didn't have any so i use a french grip but held it like an italian grip) they made funny of me for it saying that the italian grip was useless and stupid to use agenst a french grip. I fenced any way and i won in a 5 bout deul, they still made fun of me. Now i'm pissed!! I'm going to buy an italian grip like it or not! (even my teacher made fun of me!!!) I'm going to show them that even an italian can be just as good as a french or pistol!!!!! stressed stressed stressed evil evil

Aw. I'm sorry to hear that they made fun of you. Honestly, if it works for you than stick with it no matter what others say. Maybe they're just jealous any ways wink

If one was really better than the other, then the other two kinds wouldn't exist today. Lol. xd It's like grip Darwinism or something.
Those muckheads are probably just insecure and looking for a reason to make fun of you. Try not to let it bother you.

I say if it works for you, then go with it.
Just because they say that the Pistol or French grip is best, well, it isnt best for everybody. I think it's cool that you are going with another kind of grip. Show them that you can be different and rock at fencing too.

You see same senario with guns. They dictate on all types of scopes and handles and finishes to make your gun flashy but who cares honestly? If it works, it works. Everyone makes fun of me because ill switch hands when useing a 2-hander and ill go back and forth from left hand on top to right hand on top. I find that people mock those who are better, just because they are afraid to admit they suck lol. Go for what works for you.

In the end, who cares what they think. Peer-presure doesn't stop me, and who knows you might get really far on the italian.
