Daisy and Lavender are my original concepts for the Cirque. I got the idea through my research of carnival history. I am always open for critiques, just be kind to me about the banners and such. All this poor girl has is Microsoft paint to play with. Edits: I wanted to make their show a bit more combined, so I revamped their final stage. Edits (2): I redid a bit of their descritpions, rewrote their history since it needed to be fleshed out, and changed their Stage 3 performance.

Names: Daisy and Lavender Sanson Stage Names: Sugar and Spice Talent: Conjoined Twins Gender: Female Age: 17 Birthplace: Marigold(Flower of Cruelty, Grief, Jealousy), Georgia Home: Magnolia (flower of dignity, nobility), Arkansas World: Type A, 1990 Height: 5'3" Weight: 240 lbs(120 lbs each, though Daisy claims to be lighter of the two) Race: Caucasian, purely english decent Family: Mother - Lily (deceased, flower of celebration, regality, enthusiasm, ambition), Father - Harold (alive, prefered dead) Daisy Meaning of Name: Innocence, Loyal Love, I'll Never Tell, Purity Hair Color: Bleaches it blonde Eye Color: Brown but wears blue contacts Skin Tone: A lovely light tan
Personality: Daisy is the fun loving sister of the two! She always wants to be lending a hand to the others with anything they need, despite her sister's constant protests. Most would describe her as the body of the two as she is always wanting to be in motion. She is actually a semi-talented dancer as well as a decent singer. While not as intelligent as her sister, she does enjoy reading romance novels and anything about magic. Daisy loves jokes and is always trying to come up with a new zinger to impress her friends. Despite the feminine act she puts on for the paying customers, Daisy hates wearing dresses. Daisy is just another tomboy that would rather have guys for friends so it rather gets to her when her sister flirts with all of them.
Off Stage Outfit: A pair of jeans and a nice t-shirt is all this girl needs. Though she does like a slight feminie touch to them. A tight top to reveal her growing body or some frill around the edges to give it a more girly look. Though a tomboy she still remembers she's a girl and tries to dress somewhat the part.
Favorites: Daisy loves to dance and sing. She loves all sorts of music as she tries to dance to any beat. It's usually some sort of waltz because both she and Lavender can move together in it. Romance books about the beautiful girl winning the heart of the beautiful guy is one of her quiet pasttimes while helping out anywere she can is her favorite physical activity. Her favorite foods involve high carbs such as pasta, bread, soups, and salads. Her favorite color is actually blue, not white, but she plays the part for the show.
Dislikes: She hates sitting still, which is hard when her sister needs her quiet time. She also deplores smoking, but can't ever keep the cigarettes away from Lavender. She doesn't drink either, viewing it as a waste of cordination. But due to their connected blood vessels, she usually feels part of the effects of her sister's consumption of alcohol.
Strengths: Constantly energetic, a good dancer, a good singer, always concerned about the health of others, especially her sister.
Weaknesses: Despite her endless energy and joyful exterior, Daisy really fears losing her sister. Not because it would mean her own death, but the sheer thought of being alone. She never likes to talk about though the question always seems to come up. Though she is a competent dancer, Daisy must always make sure Lavender isn't being hurt by her movements. She is also worried about passing a disease onto her more sickly sister. Due to this, she is a constant cleaner, so nothing stays dirty to infect or harm her dear sister. She won't go out much in bad weather, for fear of the harm the elements could do to her sister. Lavender Meaning of Name: Flower of Distrust Hair Color: Dyes it red Eye Color: Wears red contacts Skin Tone: Tan when she's not wearing her make up.
Personality: Lavender is the quiet intellectual of the twins. She can engage anyone in a debate (when she's not drunk) and most likely win. Her past times include reading, playing chess, and writing poetry. She smokes quite a bit and has been known to drink depending on her moods. When in a good mood, she's has a quick wit and can hold a very nice intellectual discussion. When in bad mood, she's sullen and usually has a quick temper. Daisy blames this on the abuse they recieved from their father but Lavender mostly does it because it helps cope with her own anxieties. Lavender also hides her anxiety by being a complete flirt as comapred to the simple friendship her sister offers everyone.
Off Stage Outfit: Lavender loves to wear revealing clothing or tight fitting clothing. Despite her "deformity" she loves to show off her sexy blooming body. Her clothing is far more feminine than her tomboyish sister and hardly proper for a girl her age.
Favorites: Lavender loves to read and will devour any book. She likes poetry books most of all and can be seen reciting their lyrics when she has free time. She also writes poetry in a small journal. She loves a good chess game as it challenges the minds and keeps her sister sitting still for awhile. Lavender does have a few vices, that of smoking and drinking. Though only 17, she learned the numbing power of alcohol from her father. He always had it around and after getting verbal or physical abuse she would drown the pain away. Depsite being sick a lot she loves to smoke. She thinks it's cool and it gives her something to do while her sister is moving about.
Dislikes: Lavender hates being sick! She gets very angry and upset so its always best to leave her with Daisy when ill. She also hates the cold which usually ends up making her sick. Most hated of all is when her sister takes away her alcohol and cigarettes.
Strengths: Incrediably artistic with the written word. Her voice is more husky than her sister so her reads are very beautiful and spell binding. Is actually a fairly successful charmer of men since she is very physically sexy. Pulls off the bad girl look without a blink of the eye. While not as good as her sister in singing, her voice makes it a sensual tune. The two usually do best in a duet.
Weaknesses: All conjoined twins have a "sicklier" one of the two, and that is poor Lavender. Her smoking doesn't help and can cause her to get a cold or bronchitis. Its more of a fidgiting activity than an acutal addiction but she's heading down the road for it. If she doesn't watch her drinking, she could become an alcoholic. Lavender tries not to think about the day she and Daisy will die. Having been sick so many times, she's learned not to fear death. She would welcome it so long as it treated her sister gently.

Conjoined twins occur in roughly 1 in every 200 identical twin pregnancies and are always identical. Actual numbers for conjoined births vary from 1 in 20,000 to 1 in 100,000 pregnancies, and 40-60% are stillborn, with many others dying within the first few days after birth. About 70% of conjoined twins are female, the reason for which is unknown. Separation has been attempted on almost all conjoined twins born since the 1950s with varying results, although the first successful separation was performed in Basle, Switzerland in 1689 on twin girls born joined by a ligament at the sternum (xiphopagus). The first conjoined twins to be successfully separated in "modern" times are generally believed to be Catherine and Caroline Mouton of Louisiana, born joined at the lower back (pygopagus)and separated in 1953 at 8 days of age. Both survived the operation, but Catherine committed suicide in 1985. There are two theories of how conjoined twins are formed. More widely accepted is the "fission theory" which states that conjoined twins occur when a fertilized ovum (egg) begins to split into identical twins, but is somehow interrupted during the process and develops into two partially formed individuals who are stuck together. The "fusion theory" has been around much longer, but only with modern breakthroughs in understanding embryology has it begun to look more probable. According to this model, twins become conjoined after the fertilized ovum intially splits into identical twins. While lying side-by-side in the uterine wall, the two embryos become fused together. A human embryo, in its earliest stages, consists of three layers of cells. These cells "seek out" cells of the same type and thus bond together to form individual organs. When two newly-separated identical twin embryos are lying in close proximity to one another, sometimes signals get mixed and cells will attach to other cells of the same type, but that belong to the other twin. The easiest example of the fusion theory to understand is the formation of craniopagus twins. One of the three "sheets" of tissue that comprises the embryo will ultimately "roll up" to become the neural tube - the spinal cord and brain. Like rolling a piece of paper into a tube and taping the edges, the edges of this newly-formed tube will adhere together. Spina bifida, a type of paralysis, is caused when these edges fail to join properly. For this to happen, the cells at the edges of the neural tube must be able to find and bond to one another. However, when two neural tubes are present, the cells at either end of the tubes might accidentally "find" each other, and become stuck. This "fusion theory" of conjoined twinning has been espoused in recent years by such experts as Dr. Rowena Spencer, who has studied over 1,300 sets of conjoined twins in her 50-year career, and Armand Marie LeRoi, author of the book Mutants which discusses the embryological causes behind many of history's so-called "freaks". Not surprisingly, the media tries to dumb down the science of conjoined twinning with such inaccurate phrases as "fused since birth" or "joined at birth" - making it seem as though conjoined twins are sort of forced into one body during the birthing process. Perhaps a more scientifically accurate description would be "joined since shortly after conception." Before the real science was known about conjoined twins, they were looked up on and physically deformed or freaks of nature. Very few who survived to adulthood could get jobs and their mobility was limited. Some were forced to live at home with their parents until their death, but others had more grand ideas. Usually the twins were sold to the circus by their parents and raised in that environment. But they were one of the most popular attractions in the sideshow, many earning a very good living and were able to retire after their career. Some went willingly into the sideshow business as it was one of the few career options available. Once human rights activists started raising awareness of the deplorable conditions and the constant humiliation and abuse the twins recieved working for the circus, many demanded that the sideshow be removed from the circus. The physically deformed were not feared or looked upon and mysteries of life; they were veiwed as deformed individuals being manipulated and exploited for profit. Most sideshows got rid of their conjoined twins feature by the 1960s. Now conjoined twins can live and work as disabled individuals. Daisy and Lavender Sanson were born to Harold and Lily Sanson in 1990. It hadn't been seen in the original checks up but the girls were conjoined at the base of the spine and hip. The doctors were thrilled that the girls were so healthy after such a difficult birth but their father was horrified. He immediately asked the doctors to see if the girls could be seperated. After some tests it was determined the girls shared too many important veins and part of their spinal cords were together, so seperation was impossible. As quickly as he could he checked his wife and daughters out of the hospital. He was so ashamed. He had created a pair of monsters. Their mother was hardly so demeaning. She loved her little girls and thought they were special gifts. She decided to name them after her two favorite flowers, the daisy and lavender, which she grew out in the window box of their little home. As babies, the girls developed a bit more slowly than the other children. They couldn't crawl or walk until they were nearly three years old. Their mother took them for walks despite their father's protests, showing her sweet babies to all the other mothers. While they were curious about the girls, the sweet nature of the two always won over strangers. When they started school their father put his foot down. He would not have his shame going to public school so the girls were home schooled. They still saw their neighborhood friends and went out to play as often as they could get away with it. These acts usually got them a good rap over the head and a loud cursing from their father. Their mother defended them, saying they needed the interaction for when they were adults. The fight would always continue into the night and the girls would fall asleep to the yelling of their two parents. Through their schooling the girls learned more about their condition as well as the tales of the other famous conjoined twins. Lavender was the best student of the two and had a knack for poetry. Daisy was far too impatient for book learning so her mother taught her to dance and sing. Lavender joined in on these lessons, mostly for the dancing, but she also learned to sing a lovely tune. The best dance they could do was a waltz where the girls twirled around in perfect harmony despite their joined bodies. The duets they performed for the local mothers were highly adored. But still their father could not show any affection or pride in them. When the girls were ten years old, their greatest loss occurred. Their drunk of a father hardly left any money for the family to survive on, let alone go to regular doctor's visits. So, once their mother finally had the money to go she was given horrible news. She had cancer and it was advanced. She only lived a few more months but she told her daughters to be strong for her. Her death marked the beginning of their life of hell. Their father moved them to a new town and forbid them from ever leaving the house. They couldn't even get home schooled now so they learned what they could out of their mother's books. Their financial situation was still no better as their father drank most of it. The girls would steal money from him and sneak out during the day to get groceries. If they were ever caught it meant a harsh beating. Through the seven years of this treatment no one would help them. They were thought of as strange people or as if they carried a disease. How they missed their old home. Daisy kept racking her brain for an answer to this problem. They were nearly 18, which would free them from their father's grasp. But where would they go? They didn't have a high school education nor did they have any means to support themselves. Lavender sighed and said she wished circuses still used conjoined twins in their sideshow. It had been outlawed back at the beginning of the 19th century but that didn't deter Daisy. She knew that would be their best ticket out of this hellhole. She searched through the papers all that summer for all the circuses coming near by. Each time they would walk there and ask to be hired, but they were always turned away. Either they were too young to work or they were told it was against the law for the circus to have them. Then Daisy saw an add for the Cirque, it was the last circus of the summer, their last chance before the hell of winter would come. Something seemed different about this circus, so she made Lavender pack her bag. Even if they didn't get the job, they wouldn't return to this house. They were scared, but this was their only choice.

TalentsDaisy and Lavender joined the circus because they knew they would be an excellent exhibit on the freak show circuit. They are Pygopagus Conjoined Twins, but as far as they know they are just Siamese twins. They are conjoined at the pelvis and lower spinal cord. They basically have a 7 inch round section that they are connected to each other. They can stand somewhat side by side but still have their backs to each other. Their clothes are modified to fit around this opening, usually snapping together to close and hide the area. Pygopagus Conjoined - Joined back-to-back at the pelvis and lower spine, each with separate hearts, heads and limbs. Almost all pygopagus twins are female; most male twins of this type are stillborn. Historically, many pairs of conjoined twins who live to adulthood have been pygopagus. Separation is usually successful, although separating a conjoined spinal cord can lead to paralysis below the point of junction. Also called illeopagus. DaisyDaisy is an excellent singer and sings alto. She has a lively voice and is usually very perky. She can do a bit of tap as well. LavenderLavender reads poetry and classics so she is a bit of an actress. But she is also a decent singer only with a more husky voice than her sweet sister. CareerStage 1 - Carnie: Since they can't do too much except maybe some light manual labor, they both could work selling tickets. That way they can work both sides of the ticket counter and sell more tickets. They can also stand out and pass out fliers. They are excellent at sewing and mending since they couldn't go out much and they've had to alter every bit of clothing they've worn. So they can help take care of the costumes and repair holes in the tent. Stage 2 - Cast Member: Once they are on stage, they can be a facinating show. Daisy plays the innocent young girl who drinks from tea cups and is pure as snow. She is the good twin, kind and gentle. While Lavender is the bad twin, a constant flirt who drinks and smokes. Mostly they will just be looked at while they sit on the edge of their split room. Everything will be a mirror image of the other side, save for the style of the decoration. Daisy's will be all white with child's furniture while Lavender's will be a sensuous dark room with black furniture. It will have more of a devil look to it. The only real interaction they have with the audience is when they are asked questions. Stage 3 - Headliner: Now they are famous and have their name in lights. The lights rise to show Daisy seemingly standing alone on a small spinning stage so all the audience can see her. A black curtain behind them will make it appear as if Daisy is alone. The light always follows her, never illuminating the back of the stage. Daisy sings a sweet tune of innocence and harmony. Suddenly, at the end of her song, a husky voice laughs and the stage goes black. When the light comes up again, the sultry Lavender is standing were Daisy once was. Lavender sings a sexy song of sin and vice. At the end of her song, Daisy cries out in shock at the other woman's actions. Now, the stage spins to show both girls having a duet about the joys of innocense and the pleasures of sin. Suddenly it is revealed the true cause of their arguement, their bodies are connected. An angel and a devil, forever bound to each other. Daisy cries out that Lavender needs to mend her ways lest she fall into the hands of the devil. Lavender just laughs and says Daisy should taste the sweetness of sin before the her life's light is forever put out. Daisy is tempted by sin and Lavender considers being more proper. But they leave their audience wondering which gave in. CostumesDaisy: On stage she portrays the sweet innocent one of the twins, usually in a pure white doll dress that flowers down to her mid thigh with white ribbons tying her hair into pigtails. What shows of her legs is clad in white knee stockings and black mary-jane shoes. She wears white lace gloves on her hands and wears pink lipstick and blush. She bleaches her brown hair blonde and wears blue contacts Lavender: On stage Lavender is your typical goth bad girl. She wears a black mid-drift with a sheer shirt over it. Black leather pants show off her rather curvaceous hips and the knee high leather dock martins give her a bit of height. Elbow length fingerless leather gloves cling to her slender arms while a chocker with a skull on it circles her neck. Her red hair is usually up in pigtails like her sister but with black ribbons. She always wears very pale make up save for blood red lipstick and black eyeshadow.

Since you've only got half your quest thread up, I can't really go into that much detail, but I do like what you have up so far. It's cool that they have found a gimmick, and also that they are from modern times. Most people who went into the sideshows as conjoined twins did it because their parents sold them back in the 1800's, but here's a pair who did it on their own free will! Very cool. And their gimmick about pretending to be an angel and a demon (or something like that) is neat. I know in some places it probably wouldn't get that much applause, but in a lot of the worlds the cirque visits the locals would think it's pretty neat.
-->I don't know if you're aware, but there's a pair of very famous conjoined twins named Daisy and VIOLET Hilton. I don't know if the old sepia picture in your banner is of them, but maybe that plays into their backstory? Namesakes?
-->You might want to ask Dahli or another staffer if this would count as two characters. It's been stated that players can only have two characters, so you might want to find out if after you get these two you would be able to quest again.
Good luck!

Thanks so much! I'm actually going to change their date of birth because they could be easily seperated by surgery, at least the type of conjoined twins they are.
And Yes!! That is Daisy and Violet Hilton in the picture! I used Daisy and Lavender because of what they represented as flowers and how it would go along with their act. I actually have a website of famous conjoined twins that I look at for ideas on how they would get around a such.

Or what if you don't have to change their birth? There are reasons today why twins aren't separated. Possible reasons why: a) Their parents are kind of new-age hippie types and wanted to let them choose at the age of four or so. The girls chose to stick together b) There is something preventing it, such as their spines or hips are fused or they have several conjoined arteries?

Yeah, I thought about that. But then for them to go on the sideshow circuit would be considered inhumae. But this is a fantasy circus. I'll play around with it. ^_^
And I do plan on asking about if they would count as one person or two. I hadn't thought of that honestly since I was just trying to come up with an idea no one had mentioned.

If they did it on their own free will it wouldn't be. I mean, they're 17 with their current birthday. If they made some sort of deal with each other to run away and join the circus, it's not inhumane at all.

I actually considered doing twins, and I asked Couer Torve about it, but she never responded... You have definitely done better than I could have with the twin idea. Excellent job!
Just one question. In all the pictures of Lavender, she has red hair, but you stated that she dyes it black. Is it supposed to be red, or could you just not find accurate pictures of girls with black hair?

It was hard to find a nice picture of what i was looking for. More like the sarcastic punk look. But its hard to search for those. Plus I may change her hair to red. Not sure just yet. The black just worked so well at the moment with Daisy's white.
