Probably not. He'd most likely reply with a long silence and then a "Huh?". It would be a long, painful process including a lot of 'Why?'s....

i think he might misunderstand or something. like... if she asks him to come to a picnic or the ramen shop with her he'll just think that she wants to spend time with him because he's her friend or something sweatdrop

Watashi wa Hyuuga Hinata desu... I don't think Hinata would just ask him out like that...She'd probably have to come to terms that he isn't going to notice by stuttering (although he should -___-) And she needs to tell him. Most likely it'll be a heartwarming confession...Kind of angsty but turns out good in the end...And Naruto after learning that he is her light, and that she is the only person in his age group and of the opposite sex that LOVES him for him. And not platonic love...

æ„›I'd say, like in most animes when the moment isn't right(it probably won't come until the end of the storyline or close to it), somthing would inturrupt them right before she asks him =P or if she doesn ask him he misunderstands, or Hinata quickly changes it and says somthing like "as friends" or somthing.... æ„›

What i think

Hinata was sitting on the bottom of a tree leaning against the trunk of it dreaming about her lover, Uzamaki Naruto, Hinata was near the academy.
Naruto on the other hand was helping Konohamoru with spit ball.
"Hehe, Konohamoru lemmie try to use resengan to push it instead of blowing." Naruto mumbled
"Heheheh" Konohamoru put it up....the resengan made the spit wad fly through the air right next to Hinata. Naruto was running over to apologize for almost hitting Hinata with a spit wad.
"N-Naruto-kun..." 'I need to tell now!' "Naruto, c-can I talk with you for a f-few minutes.." Hinata asked without blushing incredibnly or stuttering as much as she usually does. Naruto saw the look of determination and sadness in her eyes '....Well, its not like Konohamoru can kill me.....' Naruto thought.
"Sure, Hinata..." Naruto was trying to talk gently so Hinata could tell him what she wanted too. He could see that she wanted to tell him somthing and he also saw somthing very...very valuble and scarce to Naruto......Love.
"N-Naruto-kun, I-I.....well you sorta see......" Hinata couldnt take it anymore, Naruto was right next to her this was her chance. Hinata threw all of her shyness away and kissed Naruto on his lips lightly.....more like brushed against his. She soon after realized what she did and started to get up wailing 'I couldent even tell him!!! I just go up and kiss him!!! What was I thinking!!!'
Naruto grabbed Hinata's arm,
"....Hinata, please dont cry because of me, Please don't run from me, please stay right here. I'm....really retarded not for noticing huh..."
Hinata wat next to Naruto and hugged him getting a kiss on the cheek and a blush back.
"Hinata......thanks
