Are any of you in a flute choir?
I am. I play the alto flute. I'm in my school flute choir so its nothing big but I think its rather funny when The band sounds horrible when we're not in band class when we have flute choir but then when we're in class, the band sounds great

I've never had the opportunity to be in one, nor have I seen one in my area. I bet all those flutes sound lovely together!

I'm doing a little flute choir thing with my teacher's students in May. But it's all C flutes. No alto. Or bass. Just piano.
Another reason I'd like to be in a flute choir: gives me an excuse to learn bass flute. No clue why, but I think playing bass flute might be nice.

I wish I were in a flute choir, but there is none in my area. I'd love to learn/play bass flute, the lower the better.

Flute choir....I was invited to do that...along with an actualy orchestra! The other fluitists are adults, and while it doesn't seem like a good reason not to do it, I just don't wanna be belittled by the older people....

Double contrabass flutie? *sniffle*
That gives me a even bigger reason to join a flute choir! Are there any choirs in the Houston area?

We're starting it up in my band, I'm really excited, I think my friends and I are putting one together for our annual talent show (most likely an arrangment of pacabel's canon in D)

We have one for our school. I was in it, but they replaced me because I missed too many practices because I played soccer for my school as well and had practices all week. It makes no sense though because the girl that replaced me was on the team as well. confused I think the only reason she replaced me was because she was a senior, really, really good player (she was 1st chair of our highest band since her 9th grade year and maintained it all 4 years) and could have easily learned the music. I was really upset though. I only missed, like, two practices out of them all and they kicked me out because I played a sport. Totally unfair.

I was in my high school flute choir with all upperclassmen (or, upperclass women or upperclassgirls i guess) when I was a lowly freshman (or, freshwoman, freshgirl, whatever). It's fun! they actually have some serious respect for a kid that can keep up with them.
