drakengel with her fun Resident Evil fan fiction. Poor Mikhail cant seem to catch a break, now can he? Surviving one crisis at a time.
Nicholaus with his perspective from the tormented mind of James Sunderland. Very thought-provoking.
Tsukijuun with a very twisted and bloody ClockTower fiction. Fans of the series will definitely appreciate this one.
So all you members out there in horror land pick your favored author to win the big 2k award. The poll will run for 3 days to ensure at least a good amount of time is available to pic your favorite. After the poll expires, the winner will be announced and the checks mailed.
Since only three people entered, that essentially means that all three of them are automatically winners to begin with, so congrats to you guys for your hard work and creativity. My hats off to you
Horrific Short Story Contest!
Greetings friends. I have this itsy bitsy little problem I was wondering if you could help me with. I've have all this needless gold just cluttering up my account and I need to get rid of it somehow. Therefore, I am offering a contest for all you creative writers out there in horror land.
Submit a short story, 1,000 words or less, for a chance to win 2,000 gold!
It can be a fan fiction of your favorite horror game, or it can be entirely original. Spooky, serious, action packed or just funny, it doesnt matter, so long as it has some kind of horror theme to it and the story is totally original (not a duplication of someone else's work.)
The contest begins now and ends July 20th, which should give you a good lenght of time I think to whip out a 1,000 word fic if you have a busy schedule.
So write your little black hearts out. Maybe a Sailor Moon/ Silent Hill cross over. The hot love affair between James, Maria, and Pyramid Head (god!). A survivors journal documenting the last bloody days of his life in a zombie overrun world. Be as creative as you want to be. Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Doom, Aliens vs Predator, Clocktower, Fatal Frame, House of the Dead, Echo Night, it doesnt matter.
Remember that grammar and spelling make a considerable difference. If I can't read it, then I can't award gold for it.
1st Prize - 2,000 gold
2nd Prize - 1,000 gold
3rd Prize - 500 gold

ART CONTEST RULES/REGULATIONS/ETC.
1. No using art you didn't make. (Obviously)
2. Provide links to the art (Fairly simple, and it'd be hell if the page stretched from one of you guys' artistic wonders)
3. Follow the Gaia ToS. No nudity, nothing too graphic. Make it as gory as you want, but please, no detailed porno-ish art. D=
4. Don't be mean. I know we're all sweet and we wouldn't do this, but I just wanted to put it out there. Don't put people down, y'know?
5. Post all entries in the thread.
6. If you want to enter, send 200 gold to me, Tsukijuun, as an entry fee.
7. If you entered, please don't vote, to make it fairer. xP
8. The voting will start....September 3rd (two weeks) and if we don't get more than two entries, your entry fee will be returned.
9. I can change/alter the rules in any way I see fit. And the other moderators can alter/change the rules in any ways they see fit.
You will have 2 weeks to submit your entry. On September 4th the voting will begin, and it will last until September 8th.

The prize will change as more and more people enter, to make it fair. I promise I gain nothing from this. (Hell, I'm gonna lose gold. xD <3)
If only three people enter:
1st Place: 3,500 Gold
2nd Place: 1,550 Gold
3rd Place: 550 Gold
If five people enter:
1st Place: 3,700 Gold
2nd Place: 1,650 Gold
3rd Place: 650 Gold
See? The more people that enter, the higher the prizes get, but there's the lesser chance of you getting a prize. I wish I could give prizes to everyone who enters, but, alas, I can't, for I am a poor bunny. xD
Generally, 2nd place will be half of 1st, but 3rd place winnings won't be half of 2nd. I'd rather have a more generous offer for everyone.

Alright.
Here we go.
Now, as you know, the new guild name is The Survival Horror Guild. So the new banners will have to have the guild name with some sort of slash or whatever through the word survival while still keeping it legible enough to know that it's the word "Survival". In the case of animated gifs, you can have the word Survival first and then have a transition that totally blocks it out.
This contest will be for 3 banners.
The first two banners have to be 500x500 pixels or less, as according to Gaia guidlines and rules for sigs.
1st banner will have protagonists of horror and horror-themed video/computer games. Folks like Harry Mason, Jennifer from Clock Tower, Chris Redfield, etc, are what I means. Sidekicks like Ada, Sherry Birkin, etc, are, unfortunatly, uneligable. It has to be a character you can select at the beginning, no cheat codes, no "beat the game to unlock them" shenanigans, etc.
2nd banner will have antagonists of horror and horror-themed video/computer games. I prefer monsters and super-human stalkers like Scissor Man, Walter Sulliven, but I'll allow villain folk like Wesker (better chance if you use a "monster form" though, like with Krauser or whatever).
the 3rd banner is for the gaia guild registry listings, so they have to be 200x40 pixels. You can pretty much do whatever you want with them, as long as it's got some sort of horror vibe and has the word "Survival" slashed out.
There can be three winners, and you don't have to submit a sig for all three above catagories, but it's possible to win the prize for all three.
The basic prize is 2000 gold per sig.
You need to pay KENSHIRO28 an entry fee of 300 gold to be eligable for this contest. This gold ISN'T for KENSHIRO28 though.
It'll be added to the winning pot.
That's right folks! The more people that enter, the more gold you can win!
DO NOT DONATE THE ENTRY FEE TO THE GUILD! YOU MUST GIVE IT TO KENSHIRO28! I cannot directly access the guild gold, so I would be unable to add it to the winning pot. If you donate by accident, that's fine, I'll have gold to cover it in such a case, but this is just a precaution to avoid complications.
You can submit multiple entries for each catagory.
The deadline for sigs is February 16, 2007. Winners will be announced, hopefully, by the 18th.

Hmmm....I suppose I can expand the lenght if necessary. I wanted to present a relatively short threshold that would allow for everyone to be able to submit something in a relatively short amount of time.
I can double the limit to 2,000 and push the turn-in date by another week if that will help.
Please post whether this should go into effect or not.
