March 22, 2007
So, I got my first tattoo today and I totally love it. I was so nervous, my eyes were red and you could tell I was about to cry and the guy hadn't even started inking yet, so... once I chilled out and he was done putting the design on my skin and started inking, it wasn't half as bad as I thought it would be. There were no tears, or screaming or twitching and there was barely any pain, except perhaps for moments in which I might have jumped a little because it might have hit a bone or something, I don't know, hehe. I took a really good picture of it earlier, with an actual camera and in the light, but since I have to wait for my friend to e-mail me it, I will be posting a not-so-good shot of it so you can see sorta how it looks like. It was taken with a camera phone and in a rather dark room, though I still think it looks pretty cool. xDD
Here it is:

Alright, so... there. xD I eventually plan on fixing some minor things and adding a bit more color and eventually I hope to be able to slowly expanded all through my back, as if it was a song, with stars and and sparkles and musical notes and blah blah and I plan on ending it on my hip, but that'll take time. Next thing I'll do, possibly next month if I have the money, is add a bit more color to it, which I wasn't able to do today because the it just hit me once he was almost finished and since it was my first and all and he had already tattooed my best friend (a huge tattoo all over her leg) and had costumers waiting, I simply said I'll stop by some other time, so chya.
My experience? It was relatively painless, a little itchy, a little buggy, but rather painless and I am totally in love with my tattoo. Once it's completely healed, I'll also take a picture and show you all teh prettiness.
:] <3

xd They should tell you about aftercare when you got it.
But anyways, here's what you do...
You can use neosporin, it works REALLY WELL. Your tattoo will ******** itch for the next week or so, DO NOT TOUCH IT. Or it will smear. What I did was kinda pat on it a little, or when I was rubbing neosporin on mine the friction helped.
But yeah, put neosporin, or the solution if they gave you one, on at least twice a day until it completely heals.
Also, don't freak out if little flakes of ink kinda come off, it's really not a big deal, it's just the scab.

I thought I had wiped my tattoo off xd Also, I was told by the last guy who did my tat that Neosporin is a big nono. But, then again, he was a crappy tattoo artist, so Iunno xd He also told me not to use moisturisers, but my first tat artist told me to use them, so I did for both and it worked great. You should also wash it with anti bacterial soap every so often. No cloth, though. Only your fingers and a paper towel. Also, cover it with vaseline while in the shower. You don't want your shampoo and harsher soaps getting at it.

Thx guys, the tattoo artist did tell me things I could do to keep it all well... healthy-like, haha, but... I always like to like... look up information on it and crap so lyke... thank you. I'll follow your advice. :] And, he did tell me about the Vaseline, I bought it, but even though it sounds kinda... dirty, I was so scared yesterday that I showered in the morning and then I didn't shower after getting it and I am going to go shower in a bit, when my mum's here 'cause she's got tattoos and she knows how to take care of 'em and all and my stepdad will also be here and his tattoos always seem to heal better and faster than my mum's, though she is diabetic, so that would sorta... explain it, haha.

NO! i know dozens of artists, and been tattooed by 5 diff artists. they ALL each and every one. say do NOT use that stuff. please look into this further. dont just listen to me, call up some random tattoo shops. every artist gives different advice, and some of it sucks. i had one artist tell me to leave the initial bandage on for 24 ******** hours. every other artist i met said an hour or two.

the best things to use are non perfumed vitaming e based gels for the first 3-4 days. then switch to lubriderm or another non perfumed non aloe based moisturiser.

i ran into the problem of my body taking so long ot heal that its almost impossible for me not to lose some color, all of my tatts need touch ups. i did everything i was told to do, yet still lost scabs, and with the scabs, a bit of color. plus i had some scarring, so i really really need to go get touch ups, and soon, like before summer so I can actually show them off, I love my ankle tat oh, btw, this was my first tattoo.... its old now... i got it small so i could hide it wow, two years and 5 tattoos later, i could care less who see them
