Abilene let out a exuberant squeal as she made her way quickly through the grasslands. She was happy to finally see the last bits of winter fading away. Running as fast as she could she opened her beak in a kind of smile, which would look extremely ridiculous to whoever looked at her. Abilene closer her eyes as she was running.
"BIG MISTAKE!" A voice in her head yelled as she tripped over a huge rock. A big oof is all you heard at that moment. Rubbing her head as she flapped her wings a bit.
"Darn rock." she glared and scoffed at the rock. Like the rock had just jutted up out of the ground at the moment she was running. Just so it could make her trip. She rose up and shook herself, making the dirt that had clung to her fur and wings to fly loose and go all over the place.
Looking around, she sighed as she realized there was now nothing to do around here.

Frühling pawed her way cautiously across the wet grass, a frown displayed quite apparently on her furred face. Don't get the wrong idea; she loved spring. It was just the fact that the grass was so cold that dampened her spirits. In fact, had it not been for the grass, Frühling would have been one of the happiest Eoghan in the land.
The only Eoghan happier than her would have to be the one who had just managed to squeal, quite loudly might I add, and trip ever so gracefully over a rock -- all in plain view of Frühling. "Walk often?" she called over to the Eoghan, trying desperately to disguise her oncoming laughter as a coughing fit. She waited for the flying dirt to settle before approaching her, still 'coughing' as if she were about to die.

Abilene's ears twitched as she heard a voice. She swung her body around and ended up face to face with a very colorful Eoghan. She growled lowly at the Eoghan that was making fun of her. "That wasn't funny! It hurt my head." She could tell the other Eoghan was trying to hold in her laughter. This caused Abilene's beak to twitch slightly as she had to start trying to hold her own laughter back.
Eventually failing at the attempt she let out a very big laugh. "I shouldn't have closed my eyes." She laughed at herself more, after all she was sure the scene had to of been very funny indeed. She played it back in her mind then shook her head as if to try and banish all thoughts about it. She was a klutz and didn't like it but it couldn't be helped.
Abilene eyed the other Eoghan as she moved closer. She looked to be around the same age as her...maybe a bit older. She wasn't for sure though.

Frühling cleared her throat, finally finished with her 'coughing fit'. "Yes, you're quite right. I shouldn't have said that. Are you alright?" she asked her with a look of false concern on her face. Frühling was still playing the scene over and over again in her head.
Frühling eyed the brown Eoghan curiously. "I should introduce myself.. My name is Frühling. What's yours?" It was sort of rare that she met another young Eoghan. She had spent most of her time in secluded places, helpful for those times when she needed to think. Actually, she was on her way to her favorite place when she had stumbled upon, well, when the other Eoghan had stumbled upon the rock and caught her attention.

"I'm fine." Abilene frowned at how fake sounding the other Eoghan was being. She wasn't being very nice. Just because I fell and it was funny doesn't mean she has to be mean about it.. She thought to herself.
Abilene straightened up, at the question, and quickly cleared her throat as well. "My name's Abilene." She said proudly. "Where you headed to?" She asked Frühling, curious as to why she would be all the way out here by herself. Never mind she was here alone as well, that didn't matter much...she had grown up here, this was her home. This Eoghan didn't seem like she was from around here....here being the grasslands.

"Ah, good," Frühling replied, a tad more sincere this time. She realized that she wasn't being too fair to Abilene. Everyone had their moments. Some more than others, though, and Frühling was guessing that this new acquantince of hers was one of them.
"Nice to meet you. And where am I heading to? Well, I was on my way to that river place..," Frühling paused for a moment. "I find it quite peaceful when there aren't too many Eoghan around. What about you?"

"Just here....and there. I'm enjoying the oncoming spring." She smiled as she flapped her wings and rose into the sky. She glided around in small circles at first then started making bigger circles around Frühling.
"It feels so GOOD out here." She had been cooped up in that wretched post office for far too long. Now, she loved the post office it's just she was getting tired of the same old scenery. "I've never been to the river before. May I go with you?"

"Ah. As are the others. But you seem to have the most unique way of enjoying the time," Frühling replied jokingly. She began turning in circles to follow the swirling Eoghan.
Frühling gave a short laugh. "Yes, I suppose it does. I'm waiting for when the grass dries, though." She lifted one of her front paws gingerly and shook the cold water off of it. "Uhm, yes. Sure. I feel like having some company today anyways."

Abilene giggled as Frühling turned circles to follow her. "I get that a lot....the unique thing." She shrugged as she lowered herself closer to the ground and just kind of floated there.
"The grass isn't so bad. It's not all wet." She said as she shook a bit more dirt out of her fur. "See?" She laughed a bit more then got serious...or at least tried to act it. "Then off to the river we shall go!" She pointed out with her paw in the direction of the river then busted up laughing, not being able to keep a straight face. "If you don't like the wet grass so much...why not fly?"

"I can see why. Not that being unique is a bad thing. I'd rather be called that than a smart a**," Frühling said with a smile.
"I suppose you're right. At least its not covered with as much snow anymore, right?" She said, trying to be optimistic. Which was a rare occassion for the colorful Eoghan. "Yes, off to the river!" Frühling exclaimed, giggling at Abilene's poor attempt at being serious. She liked this Eoghan; she seemed like a fun girl to hang around with. Hopefully she wouldn't think of her as being too uptight or something. "That.. is a good question," Frühling began as she started to walk towards the river. "I'm not quite sure as to what the answer is."

Abilene blinked as she plopped down to the ground. "Can you...not fly or something?" Her wings perked up as she took off into the air again. She flapped them, trying her best to catch up with Frühling. She flew a little more than 4 feet above the ground. Her eyes were almost constantly looking towards the direction of the river. Every now and then they returned back down at the Eoghan.

Frühling grew a tad nervous. "Well.. erm.. Not exactly.. I mean, I've tried.. I just haven't been as successful as the other Eoghan." She heaved a sigh, her wings rising and falling with her breath. Frühling had always tried to compensate for her poor flying abilities with her intellect and wit.

"Oh.." Abilene felt bad now. She folder her wings in and headed back down to the ground. Landing next to Frühling she chuckled. "Don't feel bad! I use to not be able to fly very well but I decided to make myself better." She smiled at the colorful Eoghan and turned her attention back to the path in front of her. She didn't want to make a fool of herself and trip again.

Frühling smiled weakly and looked over to Abilene. "Yeah, I guess. Silly for me to feel bad about these things.. I'll just try again some other time, I suppose." She suppressed a chuckle as her brown companion turned her attention towards the path. Wouldn't want her to have another stumble... Frühling thought, turning her attention to the path herself.
