This is a cute comic about a girl that decides to open up her own comic book store when she falls for a boy working at another comic book store. The art is decent and the comics are amusing. Why not give it a try? There's not a huge archive, I just discovered it last night and finished it within a few hours!

Anyway, I'm a huge fan of NPP! It's a great comic with interesting characters and very lovely art. I recommend it to anyone, it's awesome.

sweatdrop I was worried there for a bit!

The art's what attracted me and the storyline just amuses me, probably because a few friends of mine (as well as myself) would probably do that...open a comic book shop just to attract the guy we were after. Mwhaha. *ahem*

Have any of you read Marry Me?
It's by the same artist. It's only got 50-some pages, and it's pretty funny.

I most certainly do. I wonder if there's a thread for it yet...you should totally make one if there isn't!

This comic reminds me a lot of "Sore Thumbs". It's about a young girl who opens her own video game store and invites her friends and a local hunk to help her out with it. The characters in Sore Thumbs are a bit more cartoony and unrealistic though: (The main character is legally forbidden to wear a bikini as her beauty will cause mass destruction and panic). But it has an awesome mini, talking polar bear and you know the guy's intentions are pure because, well you can find that out for yourself.

Psh, I believe in you and your abilities! Not to mention, I've already created a ton of threads and figure others need a chance, heh. It's truly simple, honest!

I've only just begun to sift through the archives of Sore Thumbs, but I do have to agree with the similarities. The main character of NPP isn't quite as spurred on by her family to continue her lifestyle so much as the main character of Sore Thumbs. Not to mention the lack of blatant politics in NPP.

Yeah, the characters in Sore Thumbs are very two dimensional and polarized in their beliefs. I think the caricaturization is part of the humor though. Anyway, looking at both more closely, they really aren't that similar. They have similar premises, which brought up the comparison in my mind, but the approaches are way different. It's nice chatting with you Philosophy. smile

Nice chatting with you as well, H20. I'm always interested in finding similarities between the webcomics I read. It's like comparing twins, sometimes. On the surface you see doubles, but as you go deeper, get to know them better, their differences become vibrant and it's sometimes hard to believe you ever thought they were just two of the same thing.
