05.22.07 After burning the last of her oils while she ran an errand, Echo returned to her apartment to see an oily trail leading to... a child!?
03.24.07 Echo went and bought a candle holder and some oil... The scent "Calico Jack" seemed appropriate.

Name: Sinuosity "Sin"
Gender: Male
Species: Daeka
Personality: Sin is overall very lazy. It is obvious he was hand-raised. He acts like a dog -being loyal, watchful, and protective.... but with the intelligence of, well... something else. He can be calculative and think ahead. Sin always chooses the easiest thing. Generally, he is very calm and it does take a lot to get him provoked enough to get involved. When he does, though, he doesn't hold back.

Details: Sin is the size of a smaller horse or very large pony. Like a bird his bones are hollow and his fur is featherlike (meaning hollow as well). So, even though he is large with very large wings, Sin is extremely light. He can carry Echo as far as any horse on the ground. In the air, however, he can only carry the small woman for about an hour before having to land and rest for a long time.

History: Echo'a parents brought home an infant Sin. He was only a few weeks old. When his eyes opened, a teenage Echo was the first thing he saw. She raised him and has been practically inseperable ever since. She trained him, and now he acts better than any horse or dog... what exactly are the daeka?

Name: Rikker & Daenii Foxtrot
Relation: Father (Rikker) & Mother (Daenii)
History: Rikker was an only child, so it was no surprise when he inherited the Foxtrot Merchant ships, trading routes, etc. One of his family's partners had three daughters, of which Daenii was the youngest. It worked out for both families that the two fell madly in love. They have a family home, but it is run by Rikker's still living parents. Even though Daenii and Rikker have their own wing in the house, they spend most of their time on one of their ships. Their only daughter, Echo, runs a ship of her own -though not always ON it, and their last three ships are run under them but by other families. The whole thing is very structured




Name: Jesty & Helene Foxtint
Relation: Stone Vixen owners, and somewhat distant relatives to Echo
History: Jesty and Helene opened the Stone Vixen from their own hard work, blood, tears, and pain. They are more than very attached to their business and have worked hard to build up their reputation. Jesty usually deals with the running of the Tavern and Inn while Helene manages the Apartment/Tennants of the Vixen, as well as the grounds themselves.

Name: Kristofer Foxtint
Relation: Stone Vixen Freeloader, son of Jesty & Helene
History: Kris would much rather be doing... something else. While he enjoys the Vixen and the interesting customers that visit, he dreams of a more interesting life. He is a couple years older than Echo, but completely looks up to her and her wild lifestyle.

Name: Zoe Foxtint
Relation: Stone Vixen Waitress, daughter of Jesty & Helene
History: Unlike her wayward brother, Zoe loves the Stone Vixen. It's obvious to everyone that she'll be taking it over after her parents. She also has an amazing way with people. Zoe loves Echo, and the two women are the same age - they might as well be cousins, or even sisters. The woman follows Echo's schedule like a hawk, and makes sure that her rooms are aired and prepared.

Name: Jo'ele "Cook" Gesteph
Relation: Stone Vixen Cook
History: Jo is a cranky, uptight, but amazing cook. She doesn't like anamolies, and that includes even a spoon out of place in her kitchen. While she can be polite, all you have to do is look into her eyes to see how utterly disgusted/disappointed/annoyed she is. But my GOSH, that woman can cook!

Name: Ickadee Deedelen
Relation: Stone Vixen Butler/Host and Head Supervisor
History: Ickadee is an elderly, pleasant fellow. He's been with Jesty and Helene since the beginning. Don't let his calm manner trick you, if you do something wrong you will not hear the end of it!

Name: Lyllian Deedelen
Relation: Stone Vixen Maid/Hostess, Ickadee's wife
History: Lylli was the childhood friend, and soon wife of of Ickadee. They have four wonderful children, all of whom do the behind-the-scene work for the Stone Vixen without complaint. Lylli is the woman you can always count to be there for you and to listen to your problems.

Despite this almost literally being Echo's home she is not there very often. Much of her serious personal belongings are actually on her Ship. That doesn't mean she doesn't have anything at her Apartment-home. Generally, the second room was for guests, but when Merrick came around he took it over. Their balcony is the largest the whole Stone Vixen has to offer, and they live on the third floor so they have easy access to the sky for Sin. The stairs go directly down to the Vixen's Garden. There is also the fireplace, rafters for the daeka, and a bathroom with indoor plumbing.

I understand that the Merrick may seem a little like a certain pirate many people know and love. You know what I mean: Jack Sparrow! Now, I won't say he isn't like Jack... because, quite frankly, in some ways he is. My intention was for him to seem like a sailor/navy officer of a colonial/victorian time period. It wasn't until Ihe was obtained as a custom and needed all his stages described that I realized upon finishing his last stage that.... he greatly resembled Jack Sparrow and PoTC. Honestly, I should have known... "Calico Jack".... "Jack Sparrow"..... seriously. But, I am notoriusly slow at making connections.

So, if you feel that I am not playing Merrick "just like Jack"... please remember, he is NOT supposed to be Jack Sparrow!
