My Mum said I could go to the local public school. I really want to but I know my parents like to travel and I kinda dont want to give up the freedom of planning my curriculm. Also they have a major drug problem there. But I really want friends and to have the classroom envirment. I also like their books and curriculm more too. I cant decide!!! I've wanted to go back to public school for ages but now that I have the chance I'm hesitant. What do you think? Right now I only have 3 friends. 1 I see at churhc once a week. 1 I see once a month. And one I barely see and only speak to over e-mail. I'm dieing to have friends but dont know if I should give up my freedom.

It's not a permanent decision, so why not give mass education a try? Tell your parents that you want to go to public school but you want to have the option of switching back to home-schooling if you hate it.

Rilian gave good advice. Keep your options as open as possible and figure out which works best for you.

My dad said I would have to go through the rst of the year and that there was no turning back but I'll ask them. Also I'd be jumping into the middle of lessons and the end of year lessons. Since I havent been learning what they have I'd be lost.

Jumping in at the end of the year is totally useless. They won't be learning anything. They'll just be going crazy over the tests coming up.

My dad said that if I went right now I would have to finish the year. Next year they have no idea what we'll be doing. And they probably are finishing up all their tests. I dont think I'm going to do it. I think instaed I am going to talk to my parents (if they'll listen for once) about taking some extra classes somewhere and maybe doing sports next year with the school. Thanks for all your input though. smile

Hi,
I think you have a great idea. Go with the extra class or sports idea sounds fun too. biggrin

I don't have friends. I do okay. I think you made a good decision, but next year you might want to make a list of pros and cons for both, if you need to.

I think everyone should at least try public school. Even though I hate it and I'd much rather switch, I think everyone should have the experience. That's just my personal opinion, though, and doing some sports and extra classes is a very good choice too. I think you made the right decision.
