I bought some green tea, peach flavored, when I looked at calorie content, it said ZERO CALORIES! how can tea possibly be zero calories??? Can the people who do the nutrition labels lie? What makes the tea zero calories?

Yeah, it's zero calories! I drink similar stuff...all the time~ I love it so much. XD It's green tea, so it'll zip right through you, so be careful that you still drink plenty of water as well... ^^

Tea is so good. If it's sweetened they probably use Splenda for it to keep it at zero calories.
My favorite is Lipton Green Tea with citrus, however it has calories. surprised

The FDA allows foods with under 5 calories per serving to be called "0 calories", even Splenda has 2-3 calories per gram. So if you use a lot of it in baking or whatever, it can add up to a lot.
Such liars .... confused

One has to wonder why Jelly Belly jellybeans aren't the miracle zero calorie food - they're only 4 calories per bean. sweatdrop Or are they lying too?!

Yes, according to the Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21, Volume 2, Pg. 95 – 101, found online here. Splenda in particular has 96 calories per cup. Quote: Sec. 101.60(b) (1) The terms ``calorie free,'' ``free of calories,'' ``no calories,'' ``zero calories,'' ``without calories,'' ``trivial source of calories,'' ``negligible source of calories,'' or ``dietarily insignificant source of calories'' may be used on the label or in the labeling of foods, provided that: (i) The food contains less than 5 calories per reference amount customarily consumed and per labeled serving.

My favorite tea is called Arizona's Diet Green Tea. It has no calories, and it's sweet, But if those facts are true, I'd believe then that it has around 5 calories.
