are the insane people sane and the sane insane. because alot of "insane" people are very smart. they understand more about this world and what goes on it it then most. and since they know more, they seem insane the us "sane" people.for instance my freind, mark is now in a home for insane people. but we still talk. we discuss so cool points. like he explained to me that if a exploding atom caused the universe to come. how did that atom get there and another point that he says is for all you religous people. if god made everything who made him. and if he was made who made is creater.so on and so forth. like honestly a god cant just appear from total nothingness. lastly wat is the universe honestly. is it just a huge empty space that is apart of something else that we know nothing about. see a coo-coo person wouldnt be thinking about stuff like that. i dont want to bore u by reading all about himn in this one post so ill post more about him later. but honestly. albert einstein was classified as insane. until he created stuff then they cleared his name. but he was never insane he was just so sane that he saw more stuff then anyone else which helped him invite and discover what he did. whats your opinion on this? do u know any "insane" people that know more then most people?

Well, insane can also be known as a Genus. Because genus' aren't particaulary smart, but are able to see things from a variety of ways. Example:
We say up, and down. But can you picture up and down at the same time? Like two seperate pictures but in your mind at the same time.
People are do not like unnormal people. Like the 'insane' who are not necissarily insane just look at things from a diffrent perspective. I believe they are afraid because they speak of things that the term 'normal minds' cannot digest.
Another question, if everyone is different, than what is normal? Of course it means average, but really, what is normal.

Another question, if everyone is different, than what is normal? Of course it means average, but really, what is normal. no one knows what normal is because no one thinks the same. Some people would say that normal is average like you said, but people see average differently. Like goths would say that being a goth is average, same goes for preps, jocks, etc. There may not even be a normal for peoples' minds do not work the same. The people who are are classified as insane are the people we fear, for we do fear things out of the ordinary. Anything different is wrong in our eyes The thing is,everyone is wrong in someone elses' eyes So being called insane is probably the best thing to be called, for like you said,it could mean that the "insane" people are actually geniuses.

My point exactly!
Fear of the unordinary, yet no one is the same. So shall we fear everyone?
It is a question that really only goes in a circle. There is no normal, or average, everyone is diffrent. And we fear the really diffrent, and lock them up! It's ridiculous really.

That's a really good point to bring up. It's true, I agree with everything said above. But I don't believe that being classified as "insane" necessarily means that their IQ is lower though. It might be more like an irregularity in the thinking process; there should physically be something wrong with their brain, perhaps a component isn't functioning normally? (Or am I getting that mixed up with other disorders? ...I wish I paid more attention in Psych class now -_-; ) But again, what do we perceive is normal?
Even in psychology class my prof often brings up examples he deems to be or have been people with abnormalities, with psychological disorders, to be psychopaths, etc. Now I don't know about you guys, but even if he had meant to be funny, it kind of bothered me that he would just classify people like that. Some of the people he listed included Michael Jackson, Howie Mandel, and of course, a list of criminals. sweatdrop
I don't think they would lock someone away for no reason though.. According to psych, quote-on-quote, "insanity is a legal concept." So I dunno... Usually they must have committed a crime or something and deemed to be a danger to society to be put away. Canadian law might be a bit different though. Or they may be placed in a mental institution in order to get "help." Again, some of the techniques that they have used to help people be "normal" again really bothers me....

I never said they would locl someone away for no reason Dx, what I meant was, people are often quite afraid of the term 'insane'. Say a family member was born kind of out of the loop, and did things quite diffrently. The Mothers(or fathers) want their child to be normal, and send them to mental institutions. That of course is only if they are proven to be dangerous. Of course people like Michael Jackson are kinda crazy Dx

Ah, it's true. Parents always want their child to be as perfect as possible. People simply aren't subject to change. We have that tendency not to take anything different very well.
Haha! Yeah, Michael Jackson is just plain spooky. sweatdrop I honestly don't see what's so great about him... His only specialty is the moonwalk, right? Even if he wasn't there, I'm sure some other person could have taken over his title.

Yeah, people are not very adaptable!
We could have physically changed to cold weather, instead we build houses for shelter, and steal the coats of animals x]
