The competition is not straight on battle. Trainers will be left on the island, the cruise ship near by with a Pokemart and a Pokecenter, however returning to the ship will reduce your chances of being in the final fifty teams. The basic run down is as follows - you must battle (trainers or the wild), you must keep yourself alive, and you must keep your Pokemon in good shape. You will be given a variety of items and can keep 50 Pokemon in your storage system, although you are free to leave some spots open before arrival so you may capture Pokemon. You may not be in the final fifty, but you can always attempt to capture some of the Pokemon you always dreamed of having.
Ah, such a peaceful tournament - but alas, the boss of Team Rocket is expected to have sent several of his operatives, and perhaps even themselves, into this tournament. Team Aqua and Magma, not to be outdone or to lose one of their only chances at capturing Groudon and Kyogre, have also sent some of their men into the tournament. The scientists with the skills have also been sent in to collect data, rather then to just observe - although they are not seen as an eminent threat for the time being. So trainers, scientists, and operatives in disguise - no matter your intent, you have been selected to join this tournament and gain a chance of seeing, or observing and capturing, the mysterious Pokemon of our world.
Oh, I almost forgot - sabotage is against the rules; don't try to mess up other people. In addition, if your partner is disqualified, you are disqualified.

Laptop (access computer| 50 Pokeball Capacity) You will be given  10,000, which they may either spend before they ever get on the island - or they may return to the ship to purchase things as they are needed (remember: returning to the ship can lower your chances of being chosen - but you may choose poorly when you do your pre-shopping). Berries and items that can be found in nature are available to you on the island - so use your resources wisely. All trainers are allowed to bring their own personal items as well, but do remember that you will be traveling about, so don't weigh yourself down.

 [1] This roleplay requires that each character you control has two paragraphs to a post, although one will be accepted if there is nothing a character can do due to an interaction with somebody else's character. Team Rocket members who have decided to have a motto in their team are allowed to backtrack time so that they can say their lines without making one-liner posts.
[2] You may only have ONE level 90+ Pokemon in your party at any time, however you are free to have many Pokemon of that level in your computer. You may only have THREE level 75+ Pokemon. Everything else goes (remember: all players are the elite).
[3] No godmoding. When going out to capture Pokemon, you must be reasonable about when they will faint and how easily they will get into the pokeball. The same applies for battles between trainers, the HP rules do not stand in this roleplay - but you will not win against a level 90 Pokemon with a level 25 Pikachu, no matter how amazing Pikachu may be.
[4] You have the right to progress time further a day/night, however people in the middle of a battle are allowed to remain in the "past" until they are finished, but then are moved back to the "present".
[5] The Team Rocket/Magma/Aqua operatives who are after the legendary Pokemon ARE capable of capturing them, and if they manage to do so - they are allowed to use them during their escape attempts. However, legendary Pokemon are powerful - they will ALL be at level 100. They will require a vast amount of battling, even against your own level 100 Pokemon. There are no Master Balls.
[6] Romance is allowed, cursing is allowed, physical, non-Pokemon violence is allowed - but keep it PG-13 and to a minimum. Don't drop f-bombs every 2 minutes, don't keep groping your partner, and don't permanently incapacitate anybody - but a few damns, kisses, and kicks never hurt anybody.
[7] Don't make up attacks, Pokemon, or hold items - Serebii and Pokemon Elite 2000 are excellent resources for all of the things you may desire. Also, while hold items are allowed - not all of your Pokemon should have hold items, nor should they be holding anything that is just so you can have it in the RP.
