Suddenly screams shot out to the sky. Lightening struck the land in all direction; thunder can be heard miles away. Wind blows heavily across the country. A dark shadow, or a person, is floating in the air. "Heh!"

"That... was another weird day," sigh a blonde, shoulder- length haired girl with green twinkling eyes.
The one next to her, a girl with brown silky hair and brown shining eyes, replied, “It sure was. What is going on these days!"
'My name is Emma and the one next to me with the brown hair is Kirsten, my best friend. Here in Crescent Moon is the amazing place w/ the best scenery and delightful seasons. The name matches the place well. Like a crescent moon, the country shines brightly at night and is almost shaped in that way. Crescent Moon have sparkling white winters; clear, warm summers; blooming spring; and crisp- autumn color fall. Other than that this is the perfect country which includes peaceful forests, relaxing beaches, astonishing cities, quiet towns, nice countryside, and eye- catching grasslands. Crescent Moon is also a well know place because of these features. But recently something weird is happening that is causing problems and making chaos in this beautiful land. What.... or who is the reason to this and why?'
Last night, we had a very bad storm. What that night's encounter brought was many items in all sort of places, glasses scatter on the floor and ground, trees laying on the roads and even the light and telephone poles struck into some buildings. Many people came to help clean up.
“Emma, watch out!" Suddenly someone bumped into me and in a few seconds later I was on the ground.
"Oh, I am so sorry." I look up and saw a girl whose looks made me stare at her. She has the best features I have ever seen- black, straight, long, and shiny hair; perfect black round eyes; and very fit body. "Are you okay, Emma?" Kirsten said in a worry voice as she helps me to get up.
"I’m sorry, I tripped on a rock and accidentally bump into you," the girl apologized and she said with a nice voice, "My name is Kagome. I just moved here from Ni- hon (aka Japan). What might be your names?"
"Oh, it's ok and I am Emma. This is my best friend, Kirsten. So you just moved here from Japan? How old are you?"
"Yes, I just moved in and I am 13, right now. It seems like you know some Japanese, too, since you can translate Ni- hon to English."
Kirsten bragged, “Yeah, leave it to the smart girl. You see, Emma is the smartest kid in the whole school, even though, she is 13 and she knows a lot of stuff that isn’t even mandatory. When you need help, she is the best person to go to. Anyways, Welcome to Crescent Moon."
Emma said with her hands on her hips, "Kirsten, what did I tell you about bragging? Jeez. By the way, I noticed you speak perfect English, Kagome."
"I was actually born here and moved to Japan a few years ago. You see, my parents were from Ni- hon, so I speak both English and Japanese." Kagome checked at her time and her eyebrows lift up, "Oh no! Sorry, but I got to go home now. Here, this is my address. I will see you guys around. Sayonara (aka. "Bye" in Japanese)." She hand us a paper and turned away.
"Bye, Kagome. See you later," Kirsten and I yelled as Kagome continue to run.

"Where have you been!" a gruff voice exclaimed. "I was helping out. I met some new people today. They are about my age-," a familiar girl's voice replied.
"HELPING OUT! Have you forgotten what you are supposed to be doing here, hm? I hope you didn't or would you like your parents to-?"
"No, please. Don't do that. I won't forget, I promise," the girl begged.
The man's voice softened, "That is a good girl. Now, proceed."
"Yes, sir."

"This is channel 18 news report. A once beautiful place has been in a wreck. In the past few weeks, Crescent Moon as been going in chaos! There are many reports of robbery, fires, and Crescent Moon has also been under attacks of fearful storms! Hurricane, minor earthquake, blazing thunderstorms, pouring rain, flooding, and even some blizzards have cost the country a tremendous shock and many ruins. But how can this be possible? It is already in the summer and we have never experience such things before. Also when such disasters occur, what is more puzzling is the sun is always out, no matter how hard this chaotic event goes. What is happening and what are the reasons? Today, we have scientists on air to explain their hypothesis to us-" *click*
Kirsten was at my house and we were watching T.V., but turn it off instead. "Man, this is getting more and more confusing. What is happening?" I said as I shook my head.
"Don't really know. I bet the scientists won't know the real reason to this. They are probably going to say some scientific stuff," Kirsten said sarcastically.
"Well, they are scientists you know. Of course, they have to say some reasonable words about the weather or global warming."
Kirsten rolled her eyes and said, "You believe in that stuff too much. Stop reading all those books and magazines."
"Kirsten, it is a scientific fact. And, no I will not stop reading those articles that you think is useless. They are really important facts that are happening. I am not like you who like to just enjoy her day doing stuff that has no help to the world." I said defending my own thoughts.
Kirsten gave me a look and talked back, "Well, I am not some bookworm who does nothing, but study and we teens need to enjoy our life." I started to yell at her, but she cut in and said in a calmer voice, "Anyways, let's forget about that. We haven't seen Kagome in a while, but she did give us her address and stuff. Why don't we go visit her?"
I shrugged and also said in a calmer voice, "Sure let's go."

*ring, ring* Kirsten press the doorbell two times before the door open. A young man peered out the door. "Yes?" he asked in a sweet voice.
"Well, um, is this Kagome's house," Kirsten stuttered.
"Why yes. Please come in." Kirsten gasped as we saw the full image of the young man. He had astonishing black eyes that shines as bright as his lovely silky hair. "Come in. I am Gaitou. Please, sit down. I'll call Kagome over," Gaitou said and he disappears down the hall.
"Did you see that guy? He is so handsome and such a gentleman. Kagome should be happy to have him as a brother," Kirsten whisper.
"Kirsten, we don't know if he is her brother. Besides, there is something about him that is not normal and this house gives the creeps." Well, this house does give the creeps. Somehow, I feel like this house has something hidden and it also gives off bad aura. I shuddered and waited for either Kagome or Gaitou to appear. Suddenly the house shook.
"What... What is that?" Kirsten said as she was shocked by the sudden attack. I don't know what is going to happen, but somehow I got a bad feeling about this. Then, a sound came from a room down the hall. Kirsten held on to me as we slowly walk to it. I open the door and a huge black darkness came out of the room. I felt Kirsten slowly slipping out of my hand.
"Ah! Emma!" Kirsten exclaimed as she desperately clung onto me. Then, her hands slip and let go. "Kirsten!" I turned back to grab her, but the darkness disappear and mist came into my sight. "What?" I look around me to see where I was.
Then a man's voice spoke and it sound quite familiar, "So, it is true. The story of a girl with mystical power has arrived. Really, I thought it was a joke, but luckily I was prepared," he snickered as he spoke.
"Who is there?"

I frantically peered through the mist. Then the mist cleared, and a beautiful pasture with the smell of fresh clean air and flowers appears. I saw a figure standing 30 feet in front of me. I knew who it was and exclaimed, "Gaitou!"
"Hmm... You are the one that past through the shield I have made, so you are the girl of the legend, I believe. I didn't know it would be a coincidence to actually have you here without wasting time. But, shall we move on?" I didn't like the look of his face, it look so evil and scary. I knew there was something about him I don't like. Then, another shadow appeared behind a tree.
I gasped and barely utter the word, "K…Kagome." "That's right. A person you thought would be a friend. Really, one who believes in true friendship is a fool. Right, Kagome?" he grabbed Kagome in his arms. I didn't like the sight of it. First of all, Kagome seems like…an empty body with no soul in it and I also do not like the way that guy is holding her.
"Let her go! What do you need with Kagome?"
"Oh, yes, why do I need her? Of course to get rid of you that is."
"What!?!"
He grinned at me and turned to Kagome, “It is rare to find people with such powers almost equally to yours, but I have found one and getting it is so simple. Wouldn’t it be fun to go man to man? However, we had to lure you out that is.”
Something clicked inside my head and I gasped, “Wait, so you are the cause to all these destructions lately?” He laughed and the weather begins to turn dark. He let go of Kagome, and she suddenly run towards me. I dodge her, but she was fast. "Stop, Kagome. Don't you know who I am?" Gaitou sneered, "It won't work. She is under my command. She is not the person who you think it is." Kagome continued to attack me with some furious light, I dodged every attack I could and started to run.
I thought to myself, 'What can I do? I don’t know any fighting skills at all. How can I get Kagome back to normal?'
Then a voice appears in my head, "Emma, believe in yourself. You have the power to get Kagome back and banish that guy away."
"Who are you? Can you tell me…”
“No time. Hurry, you can do it." Then, it disappeared.
I stopped and words came out of my mouth, "I guess I have no choice but to do it." I closed my eyes and thought carefully. I can feel that Kagome stop and Gaitou's eyes staring at me. My eyes open, but I did not know what happened. However, I charge and hit something, then, my eyes cleared and I saw something glowing in my hand. The bright light vanishes and I saw a sword in my hand. It was no ordinary sword because of its well- carved and fancy design. But how did it get into my hand? I heard someone fall and another one choking. I turned and saw the Gaitou guy on the ground and Kagome trying to stop her from choking.
"Kagome!" She turned and fell on the ground. I went to pick her up.
"What happened? Why am I here?" she said between coughs.
I told her and myself, "I don't really know either.”
Everything went too fast, and I couldn’t remember. Soon bits of this and that started to fade away. The lush, green pasture disappears and we were in a room. It was probably the room in the house I went in. I heard sirens and people running. Kirsten shows up in front of the door.
"Emma!" Then, I fainted.

I woke up the next few days in the hospital and got out of it as soon as possible. I couldn't really remember what happen, so I went to Kirsten's house and ask her about it. She also told me about how she woke up a few minutes later after the black light and saw that I wasn't there with her in the room, so she went to go get the police. But, she didn't know what happen between when we got separated and before I fainted. I asked her about Kagome.
"Kagome? Oh, she woke up before you and the police found a couple locked up in a room back in Ni- hon. The couple was actually Kagome’s parents. It was some kind of kidnapping, but she return back the next day. Hey, what happen to that Gaitou guy?"
"Huh?"
"Never mind." After that incident, everything went back to normal. The weather became peacefully and school is going to start. I stretch on the bench at one of the parks and felt the warm sun on my skin. My life is great!

Three shadowy figures appear in a dark room of another world. One stands very close to a huge crystal ball.
"She has appear, master," one of the two in the back said.
The one near the crystal ball said in a low voice, "I can see that."
While back into the countryside of Crescent Moon, "Hey, grandpa, who has appear," a young girl asked to an elderly man.
"Hmm... Oh! Miki, What did you say?" The senior turned to the girl.
"You said someone is here," Miki replied.
"Oh that, hey, do you remember that story I told you? The one about the girl of the legends that was passed from generation from generation," the grandpa took a breath, "Her journey has begun."
"Huh?"
The old grandpa chuckled, "You'll see, you'll see." Then, he looked out the blue, clear skies. "You'll see."
