Harry first encountered Peeves here. There is a bathroom on this floor. There is also a landscape painting into which the Fat Lady was seen running through after Sirius Black attacked her in the Trio's third year. There was also a secret passageway out of Hogwarts located behind the mirror on the fourth floor, but the Weasley twins claim it had caved in and is now completely blocked.
