This is located at the base of the Gryffindor Tower. The entrance is behind a large painting of a Fat Lady in a pink silk dress in a corridor on the seventh floor. If you know the right password to tell her, she opens to reveal a round opening in the wall leading into the Gryffindor common room, which is the lowest floor of the tower
The common room is equipped with squashy armchairs, a fireplace, tables and is lined with windows on the walls.
There is one boys' and one girls' dormitory per year [for a total of fourteen] with four-poster beds. They are round rooms with windows (although these dormitories are not really on the seventh floor but in the tower which rises above the common room [the Gryffindor Tower].
