Alrighty everybody. Raise your hand if you hate stupid people that, first put a label on you, and second put you down because of this label bestowed upon you?
All of you? Really? Well, that's what I thought.
I happened to stumble upon a little website called www.godhatesgoths.com the other day, and had the pleasure of reading all about what a little corner of my Christian community around the world thinks about the Gothic subculture and Goths themselves. Apparently all Goths are potential terrorists and are the Devils children. Yes, Goths are "the whorish dressing deviants that poison our world, the depressed kids who cut themselves and think it's right, the abusive skaters, the long haired satanists, Wiccan devil worshipers, the Nazi kids who shoot their classmates for amusement. All obsessed with death and the darker side of life and listen to similar musics." Yep. And this, so they say, is a Christian organization.
You know what? If they're Christian, than they should already know that God made every single one of us, and He made us beautifully and wonderfully and He loves us just the way we are. And who are they to make the very broad and intense statement of God hating...anything. Not just Goths.
How would they feel if I said that God hates preps? Or dogs? Or Wal-mart? You know what they would say? They would say that, since I'm Goth, I'm trying to brainwash everyone into thinking that God really hates these things.
Now, I'm sorry to sound so mean, but these people are retarded. They have absolutely no right to say these things! Anyways, here is why I brought this to your attention:
I have only been on this guild a few months and have already seen a few people who are really biased and really unfair towards people that are a bit different from them. So... for those of you who have been all biased and what not and to those of you who are not, I invite you to take a look at this website and tell me what you think.
Do you think it's mean? Do you think it's unnecessary? Do you think it's fair? How would you feel if you were the one being ridiculed in this way? Hopefully this will open a few of your eyes.
