the 'mom' in mousy is capitalized!

Um... well... calling him 'light' is kinda cliche... and too well used... And yeah, Hikari already means light, however, in this case it actually means 'ice soldier' or something like that, becuase the kanji are different, but it's spelt the same way...
And... Dark's last name.... well, I guess it's just mousy for a pun on 'a game of cat and mouse'? Krad would be the cat, with the yellow eyes...

Well Krad is Dark spelled backwards, and Hiwarki already means Light, and once Krad and Dark were one before and existed in the magic world and had not entered the real world and gained a family of tamers so they could have had their own last name. http://www.indigodragyn.com/wall/dnangel-dk-a.jpg

Uh..
Guys.
Hikari generally means light, yes. But the kanji used(in DNAngel) mean something different. |: I'm not in the mood to fully explain kanji, multiple meanings, and so on..atleast not right now. Suffice to say, 'light' is the common translation. The kanji in DNAngel mean "eternal hunt". {Have a very rough translation.}
As for the OP's question..
Light is an overused name as it is. I'd say naming him Krad was a better choice, it goes to show that they're (to some extent) opposites. Its more original, in a sense.

Ditto on the cliche. Light is overused. I like Krad better, because I find nifty little things like creating a mirror name like with Krad and Dark highly likable.
But Krad would be awesome no matter what his name is.
