Hey, at least you know how to CG which means you know how to use layers. I can't grasp the concept of layers! I do all my stuff on a single layer such as the graphic on the guild homepage(green one).

*can't live without layers*
When you have layers you can experiment more and then if you don't like the result you can just delete the layer, that's how awesome it is ^^.
*gasp* you can also manipulate things in a single layer the way you want and mix it up with the layer before it and make so awesome results.
But when I CG or make signatures, like many others, especially CG (depending on what thing you're painting on, e.g. photoshop, and your style) I have a gazillion layers.
The green thing on the guild home is pretty good with using just one layer.
