So, my tattoo is already peeling, has been for like... three days or so, and it's healing nicely. I know stuff about piercings because I have gotten quite a few, but I knew very little about tattoos when I got mine done and when I saw it was peeling, even though the tattoo artist said it was normal, I was a little scared and paranoid about it at first. I kept and keep asking people if the tattoo is alright and if it's normal what's happening to a point in which even my brother gets annoyed with me. xP I can't wait for it to heal completely, or at least the peeling process to be over 'cause the colors underneath are awesome and... I just can't wait. xD
Any similar experiences? Ever been scared about the tattoo aftermath? Any anecdotes?

My first tat never peeled. Well, like, a few tiny flakes when I washed, but that's all. So, I didn't expect my second to peel. I was wiping the Vaseline off the tat after a shower one day and the complete, intact tattoo came off at once. I saw it on the paper towel and thought I had wiped the tat off. I freaked. But, man, I kind of wish I HAD wiped it off. xd

tats can peel for weeks. i work, and my tats get rubbed.. its ******** brutal.. seriously.. if youve got abad artist, he'll push too deep and they'll scab over. and thats bad, scabs can tear and scar.
but scabbing and peeling are all natural. just make sure you apply the right moisturizers at the right times. vitame e gells are great for the first 3-4 days, every 3-4 hours, or whenever its dry. keep it moist for the first 3-4 days. but not TOO moist. a thin layer of cream.
after the first 3-4 days.. start using some non-scented lotion, i prefer lubriderm, but theres others. apply that liberally.

Ooh, thx for the advice, it really does help. no prob. every tattooist will give you different advice on how to take care of them. ive heard it all. but the artist ive got now has a program that basicall combines all the good advice and throws out the bad. its the best ive ever heard. and all mine have healed awesome. leave the bandage on for an hour or two, take it off. let it air out for 30 minutes, wash the tat with cold water and antibacterial gel soap. let it air dry and then put vitamin E cream on it. and start your 4 hour applications of that after you do your first wash.
