These buildings tower high around my head,
Concrete boundaries that keep on closing in.
I cannot hear myself above the din,
The sound, reflecting off these walls of lead,
Of all the things the world has ever said.
The plaster, like an artificial skin
Suffocates and my head begins to spin.
From this concrete world, I desperately fled
Bursting out from the walls, the contrast is stark:
From over crowded to being alone
Awakening senses I never knew,
I run into the forest in the dark,
I dive into the ocean on my own,
And lie with all the stars within my view.
