ok, i have to do a narrative series for DI class. i want to do a series of images that show the stereotypical/ cliche RPG scenes/ progression. thus far i have the following scenes in mind:

main character neals in front of burning town

party talks to a tree

party meets with a king while dressed exactly as they are on the road

a foregner minor villian attacks hero

male lead and female party member look up at the moon together with the speach caption "so, you couldnt sleep either huh?"

female lead is held captive by the overlord, prompting...

fight between male lead and overlord.

does anyone have any other ideas of what i should throw in?

Often in video games something shakes the ground and all the characters stupidly run en masse to see what it is. A battle or frenetic escape ensues.

Characters thought dead also reappear, usually found and taken care of by someone very far away from where the character dissapeared and/or "died". Typically you must wait a while in order to get them back into your party.

Also keep in mind that party members change frequently, sometimes due to a betrayal.

Oh, and don't forget the seemingly inescapable situations that the characters fall into where the villian tells them his entire plot, then in true cliche form laughs madly and leaves the heroes to their fate.

Oh, oh, and the early-game kidnapping of the childhood friend(s) and/or sweetheart(s)!

Hope I helped. Good luck! ^_^

Lol, that sounds like it could be funny, duello. Have fun! xD

I remember reading something about a theory that had a relatively large list of events, and stated that all stories one could come up with resulted from selecting what events they wanted to incorporate and which ones to leave out. I thought it could give you some ideas and tried to look for that list, but I couldn't find it, sorry. I don't even remember what it was called anymore.

That, or the death/disappearance of a family member, usually the father, that leads up to the involvement of the lowly main character.
