i am creating a nook for games of all kinds; cards, jigsaw, chess, what have you.

in one corner is a quiet little antique pinball machine; instead of bells and horns it has chimes, which should not bother anybody.

so feel free to add you own pastimes here.

I like card games and Video games myself. *turns down the volume for the vid games to about 1*
As for card games I'd be happy to play someone in Munchkin, Pirates, or just about anything. Though I do enjoy the occasional D&D session.

For videogames, Tales of Symphonia is probably my current favorite. Harvest Moon is super addicting for a few hours, but gets boring and repetitive pretty quickly. (THis only refers to A Wonderful Life and Another WOnderful Life, since I haven't played any of the others. Those two just don't have any challenges after the second chapter.)

I don't play card games very often anymore, although I played Crazy Eights with my friend a lot in math class a couple years ago. Once in a while I'll play either poker or blackjack with my dad.

Chess and checkers, I never really liked. I'm not good with strategies. I'm just kinda like, "Oh! An empty space where my piece won't get taken! I'll move there!" Since my sister seemed to have a similar strategy, the games we played took way longer than I had any sort of attention span. For board games, I much preferred Candy Land. And Trivial Pursuit is pretty entertaining, when I actually know the answers to the questions. And I ask you: Why is it that the questions I get, I dno't know, but I know all the ones that other people get?

Yay for Tales Of Symphonia for the video games!

I adore all manner of card games, and chess and checkers and the like, I also excel at. I am awesome at such strategy games.

Tales of Symphonia is awesome. I've been re-playing it, for about the fourth or fifth time, since Tuesday (minus breaks to read new books). Hooray for spring break! I'm trying to cut down on my messing around in the game so that I can actually finish in less than 50 hours. I almost did it once, but then I got sidetracked by the Underworld sidequest, and some other sdequests, and those puished me over 50 hours. <.< I have ADD in that game or something. I go to do one thing, and twenty other things spawn from that one. It's fun, but it drives me crazy. So far, I just got to the second disk and I'm at like 26 hours or something. My less-than-50-hours isn't looknig too good at the moment.

My brother and his GF brought home Munchkin, Munchkin Fu, Super Munchkin, and Munchkin Blender.
Needless to say, we played all of them and had a relitevly good time.
I especially like Super Munchkin as the last time I played I had 3 different origins. One was government experiment gone wrong, then dripped in chemicals, and I forget the last one. My class was Techno and I had some Techno armor on as well as Winged armor. Then I grew 2 extra arms and hands. Yes, I was quite the FREAK.

*Tosses out the Bard card from the original* Nobody likes you.

I finished in 42 hours once, but it was hard to do the final boss battle... my characters were so low on levels...

It took almost an hour for that alone.

Yeha, I never really had trouble with any of the bosses. Only the Elite from the Underworld (the last one has 99,999 HP) and Abyssion (120,000 HP). Those took me a good chunk of time. Although now I get the 10 times experience thing from the GRADE shop before I start new games. So I was level 100-something before I even started fighting the summon spirits from Tethe'alla. Pretty awesome. All the fights are a piece of cake after level 90-something, and it's really boosting my GRADE. I want to get to 4000 before ending the game, so that I have 5000 at the end. Just to see if it does anything. I want to keep my levels, damn it. My friend did, and I wanna know how. <.< More incoherent babbling. Joy!

It's just a really expensive GRADE purchase, same as the 10x exp.

The abyssion boss gave me only a little trouble. I got him down to about 20K left, and then he ran me out of life bottles.

So it ended up being lloyd vs. Abyssion, with him at 15-20K. I won. I'm that good.

Well, if it is, then it's more than 10k worth of GRADE, because that's what I had last time and it wasn't an option. I beat the game in about 34 hours. n.n Got me about 6000 GRADE. I bought almost every single GRADE purchase, and started a new game, and Lloyd's back to level 3. Not level 150-whatever, like he was.

By the time I got to Abyssion, I'd ditched Lloyd and was using Presea. I'm nowhere near as good with Presea as I am with Lloyd, but given that I'm usually about fifty levels above any of the things I fight, it's not that big of a deal. I didn't even have to use life bottles, I just stuck Raine on Heal in the strategy and she blasted Abyssion with Photon every once in a while, between Revitalize when my characters went down. And the Colette has her light/angel attacks, and Sheena had her summoning. Summoning is pretty useless, in my opinion, since she can only do it once in a blue moon, whenever she manages to hit Overlimit, but it's awesome when she actually can do it. I like Volt best, I think. Or Celsius. Luna, with the Judgment rays, is pretty dumb. I don't think she's ever summoned Undine that I can remember, or Efreet. And I don't like Maxwell, either, 'cause Meteor Storm is pretty ineffective and inaccurate.

Either way, Abyssion still took a pretty long time, using Presea instead of Lloyd, but I like fighting him. Everything's so easy after that. And I like fighting the Elite from the Underworld (or the Sword Dancer, I think I've seen it called), just because they're fun.

RISK!!!!

That is one of my husband and son's favorite games. When my son was little he would sit on my lap and be my advisor. By the time he was 5, he was on his own .... and with no help from other players. In less than a year, I quit playing with him and my husband - unless there were other players too, I am the first to be conquered....

It has been years since they got that board (goes to look and make sure it is still hidden in the closet). Maybe I will accidently find it and set it out where they can find it.... Could prove to be an interesting weekend watching them battle it out now that that little boy is a grown man. hmmmmm lol
