The sun hung just above the line of trees, the twilight cracking into dusk. It was a beautiful time if you could enjoy it. But for someone who was lost.... Not really.
How in the name could she have gotten lost? Growling at her own stupitidy, the hybrid pushed herself forward. The trees made it hard to navigate, though the large patch of forest soon gave away to a clearing... and more trees. Oh, she wished she could fly right about now...

Did you have to lead me through all those patches of underbrush?! Baldric grumbled to his bonded wyrm, letting loose a plaintative whine as his cloak caught, yet again, on a thorny bush. After freeing the article of clothing, he hurried along after Azha, who was striding through the forest without a care in the world. Azha!
The female hybrid glanced back over her dark shoulder at her human, hissing with annoyance. "Keep up, Baldy. You're slowing us down, and I, for one, would very much like to get to the lake soon!" she growled. "I'm hungry, and I'm thirsty, and you're whiny!'
Baldric didn't even bother to argue, just stumbling along behind her and attempting to keep up. The fact that the hybrid had grown into a large, graceful, frighteningly deadly adult made his life a great deal more complicated. Oh, how he wished she was young again!
