Vere lay in the dust warming himself in the sun. His bonded lay not too far from him, fast asleep. With a deep sigh, Vere flared his wings in order to release the tenceness from their mucles. It was turning out to be a very slow day. Vere didn't like that. Not one bit. "Sometime I wish that half-pint were here," he growled, "She gives me something to do. I like fighting with her. She...." He snorted and shook his head to clear his thoughts. "What am I saying? Uh, I hate being alone! It makes me think!"

The silent spring morning was interupted by the sound of uneven footsteps on the land. She still limped. Would always limp because of that damn light wyrm. The blue flames along her back leapt to a new height, suddenly. He had hurt her, and left her worse off than she had been before. Alatariel had long ago given up trying to tell her she was beautiful- It simply wasn't true. The blood red of her color, the gray of her lower body, the tan of her markings... they clashed horribly. Alert gold eyes narrowed as a familiar scent greeted her... It rang a single thought in her mind, which she voiced aloud. "Gods dammit." Her voice was a low hiss, her arrow shaped tail lashing violently.
Her bonded stopped walking long enough to look at Rana, who was glaring ahead. Rana? She asked silently. Alatariel spoke aloud probably less than her wyrm counterpart until they encountered beings of a similar nature. The dark woman, for she had matured alongside the hybrid, looked ahead.
It's the one who crippled me. A searing hot flash of hatred shot mutally between them. He had hurt Rana, and that had hurt them both. They walked a little further until they saw them laying in the sun. How... befitting of the summer wyrm. Rana smirked.
"Firelight. We meet again."

A voice that Vere knew all too well rang in the hot air. Vere raised his head slowly to look the female in her eyes. "Half pint, you're all grown up now," he gasped. One golden hoof scraped against the earth as Vere shifted into a more comfortable position. She looked stunning in te light that danced off the more red part of her. He shook his head again. "Let him sleep please. This is the first time in a long time since he had gotten a good rest," Vere begged. None of his actions showed any aggression towards the pair. The heat made him feel a bit lazy.
