A Question Iv'e been asked alot while at either one of my jobs. Most of my 20 Piercings are in my ears.. 15 of the 20 to be exact. I have had my ears pierced ever since i was 6 years old. It was one of those things where your best friend came over and said "look! I got my ears pierced" And as soon as you saw them, you just had to have them. So I asked my mom "Mom, can I get my ears pierced?" Of course, being as how she had hers done, and whatnot, she said "Sure, lets go right now"
Sounds great, but when your 6... you start to freak out. I'll admit, I was scared that it was gonna hurt, I mean, C'mon.. i was 6. So off we went to the mall (If I had only known then what I know now about piercing guns gonk ) we arrived, waited a few minutes, my mom signed the papers. there I was sitting in the chair, just waiting.. as the lady cleaned my ears up and everything, i sat there with a look on my face like I was about to die. After everything was cleaned, marked, and I had looked at them in the mirror, she put the back of the gun up to my ear. She asked if I was ready, of course, i said yes, because what 6 year old girl could say no when all the pretty earrings were looking right at her from across the store? One, two, THREE! and with that, I had a brand new ear piercing, It wasn't so bad I said... repeat the motions on the other side, and ta-da! a brand new set of ear piercings.
I think that's when it all started. From that moment on, I knew I wanted more. Since I didn't really think about more ear piercings at the moment when I was 6.. it kinda simmered for about 9 years. Fast forward to my 14th birthday. By this time I was in 8th Grade, and I had seen SO many people with multiple ear piercings, A new concept was introduced to me.. the idea of wearing body jewelry, especial navel curves in your ears. I was fascinated with the idea of having "real" body jewelry in my ears. Being as I was young and a little on the not so bright side when it came to body jewelry, I waited till I had enough money from allowance, and went to the mall. I stumbled into hot topic and bought 2 red double gemmed navel barbells. after that, I ran home and opened them right away. I looked at them for a while, Looked at my ears and decided it was now or never. So with a few big pushes, and a burning pain, I shoved them through my ears...Ouch, it ******** hurt, But I now had something that few other people in my school had..14 Gauge ears. I was all sorts of excited, So excited that I asked my mom to have my ears pierced a 2nd time on my 15th birthday. At first, she said no, but with a little time (A year and a half to be exact) I got her to say yes. So lets skip a bit.. I got my 2nd holes done and stretched to a 16G, meanwhile my first holes were at a 12G. I went through the 9th 10th and 11th grades just wanting more and more. I had loved the way piercings looked. I had gotten more into them, and started to research a little more about all the kinds of piercings that were out there.. I found BME in the 9th grade, and iv'e been using it ever since. I could just sit around for HOURS and look at all the pictures BME had to offer.
Skipping ahead even more.. my first holes are at a 6G and my 2nd at a 10G, It's now my 18th birthday. me and my cousin (her birthday is a week before mine) have been talking about doing something special for our 18th birthdays, we decided, Another ear piercing...now im 18, and have 3 sets of ear piercings. My parents thought that was enough, But I knew I wanted more. the very next day, i went down to what was regarded as the best shop in town to inquire about a navel piercing. i was greeted by the piercer and asked what i was looking for. We chit chatted for a little while, as I flipped through his portfolio. there it was.. 3 ear piercings connected by a spiraled piece of jewelry, I was In love at first sight. I knew I HAD to have that. I asked him how much he would charge to do something like that. $120 was the reply... I had said I would be back in a few months for that, because it just looked so cool, and In a place like Frederick, Nearly NOBODY else would have that.
So over the next few months, I had picked up a gaggle of new ear piercings... Tragus, Rook, Forward helix, and a few other piercings and tattoos. it's now September, and the week of the "great Frederick fair" it's a big occasion in this town, and we get off school for it. so me and my cousin were driving around when the Idea struck... INDUSTRIAL. we both had the money, and had wanted the piercing for some time. The only problem we later found out was.. our piercer had the day off on Wednesdays... s**t.. So remembering I head hear some things about another shop in a town about 15 minutes away, we decided to make the drive to check it out. I'll skip the boring stuff like me asking alot of questions.. and that brings me to the piercing. we had our piercings done, and we were on our way. I'll skip more of the boring stuff, and get to the point that I had such a good experience with the new piercer, I had decided to use him from then on out.. To this day, i still go to him, and if I had not, I don;t think i'd have alot of the ear piercings that I do. I had never once thought about a Conch-to-Tragus industrial... But now, it's prob. My fav. piercing of them all.
So anyways, Im sorry that was a wall of text, and you got the story of my younger life (Free of charge too! biggrin ) But i guess ever since I had first got my ears pierced when I was 6, I just wanted more. My ear piercings are my pride and joy, and I constantly get compliments on them from people, young and old. Of course, I always get the "JESUS CHRIST HOW MANY PIERCINGS DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR EARS?!?!" from people, but that's to be expected.
Im now 19, and I have 20 piercings and 5 tattoos. im constantly thinking of new ideas for my ears tho. with all the other piercings I could get.. I still go back to my ears. 15 of my 20 piercings reside in my ears, And I woulden't have it any other way. And with that.. i ask you to discuss...
