A dark green phoenii with strange blue/green markings and radient orange hair sat quietly in her area of the nest. It was the smallest room in the nest as the phoenii did not have many possessions, thus she did not need a big room. Midna had moved here from a different place called the Twilight Realm, and prefered to keep herself to herself. The other residences of the nest were outside playing in the big grassy areas or mucking about in their rooms. She was the type of phoenii to keep herself to herself and she wasn't about to change that. Midna was quietly lying on her bed when a load SMASH awoke her with a start, causing her jump out of her bed. "What was that?!" She shouted angrily and stormed out of her room.
She strode into the main part of the nest and stared in horror at the broken vase on the floor and then at the 3 teenage phoeniis dancing around it.
"Your Mother is going to go spare!" She hissed with a smirk and flounced back into her bed to rest, her head was aching from all the noise the teens were making.

"Make yourself at home Unique!" Missie cooed to the young phoenii and began to mop up the split water with a cloth from the kicthen area of the nest. She then scooped up the broken pieces of the vase with the tips of her wings and emptied them into a small hollow log which was used as a bin. "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll settle in well. They're not usually this badly behaved, they're just excited about becoming teenagers!" She explained with a chuckle and ushered Unique into quite a large room with a ready-made bed and some little bits and bobs.

Unique nervously nodded at Missie and shuffled into her new room before looking around and then settling herself down into her bed.
I'm sure Missie is right.....they all seem so nice! She thought to herself and slowly smiled. Unique had been found by another Phoenii owner called Rearean but Ichigo had taken her in and left Missie incharge of looking after her. Because of Unique's hard past she was very timid, scared, and didn't trust any phoeniis or owners. She thought she was going to be left to sleep in a box for all of her life, so having a room to herself was a big suprise to the chick. Unique caustiously strecthed her wings, desperately trying not to break anything as she didn't want to get introuble on her first day in the nest. She could hear Retro and Troy arguing in the room next to hers, and Sashica was gracefully singing her room on the other side of hers. Missie had now returned herself to her room aswell, but Unique didn't know who the toher two rooms belonged to. When she thought everyone had gone into their rooms, she caustiously crept out of her nest and began to explore the nest, examining every nook and cranny to get familiar with her new home. She smiled to herself and shook all over, it was a good feeling to be in a new home. As she explored the nest a loud grumbling sound coming from one of the unknown bedrooms made her feathers stand on end. Unique edged closer to the room and gingerly peered round the corner to spot Midna muttering under her breath about the teens. The little chick gasped in surprise at the other phoenii's strange markings and backed away straight into a wall. "OOF!" She squealed and fell to floor, her head spinning. She could hear Midna's footsetps get louder as the phoenii came to see what had made the loud noise, so Unique scrabbled to her feet and ran wildly into her room. The chick threw herself onto her bed and tried to hide under her black wings but it was no use, they were to small to cover her whole body.
"Who was that scary phoenii? She looked like an evil creature!" She thought and whimpered loudly, a few tears rolled down her cheeks. After about 5 minutes of slinetly crying she wiped away her teasr with the tips of her wings and crawled out her nest to see who that scary phoenii was and what she wanted with the family, she obviously wasn't part of this nest!
"H-Hello?" Unique nervously called out and waited with baited breath.

Retro glared at his brother, placed hsi wings on his hips and growled. "Thanks to you, Sashica didn't get in trouble and WE DID!" He spat angrily and puffed out his chest. "SO as the leader I demand you go to Mother and tell her it was all Sashica's fault, and that we shouldn't get the blame!" He then grinned proudly and tilted his head to the side, and evil look was in his eyes. "Well? What are you waiting for?" Retro hissed and shoved his brother out of the room before he had time to reply.

Troy sighed, knowing his brother wouldn't let him get out of it, and shuffled over to where Missie was reading a piece of paper she had found outside in the Eyrie. "Mother......I have something to tell you....." He announced quietly and edged futher into the room so his Mother could see him. "About the vase........it was Sashica! She did it!" He blurted out and closed his eyes, waiting for the blow of his Mother's wing. When the hit didn't come, he re-opened one eye and blinked at his Mother who was still calmly reading the paper. "Hello?" He asked and waved his wing infront of Missie's face.

Missie shifted her gaze from the paper to Troy and narowed her eyes. "Don't be so ignorant. Of course it wasn't Sashica, she wouldn't do such a thing. Anyway I know it was Retro becasue I found one of his feathers stuck on a piece of the vase!" She explained coldly and suddenly winked at him. "So I have a little plan....come here!" She beckoned him over and then whispered her plan to him before sending him off.

Troy grinned at his mother and ran back into his room to see his Brother. "I told Mother and she said we are in the clear. Sashica is going to be so busted!" He laughed with a smirk on his face. "Am I the best or what?!" Troy announced, puffing out his chest like Retro does.

Retro rolled his eyes and cocked one hip to the side. "No you're not. I'm the best because I came up with the plan. Therefore I take all of the credit!" He snapped back and sneered. "You were just a player in the plan. I'm the creator so I obviously get the credit." Retro explained cunningly. He then settled himself on his nest, ruffled up his feathers closed his eyes.

A large majestic looking blue phoenii with deep green eyes flew into the nest and landed softly on the floor. He spread out his huge wings and looked around for soemthing to eat. Blui was the only adult male in the nest and was always seen outside in the Eyrie looking for a mate. He shuffled around, searching for something to eat as he stomach growled loduly. "SSHHHHH I know you're hungry, but hang on for a sec!" He hissed and raided the pantry. Missie had been collecting food and storing them in a large container Ichigo had given her, but she didn't know Blui had found it. "Come to Papa!" He laughed and looked inside it. It had been emptied and looked like it had been licked clean. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! There is no food!" Blui shouted angrily and ran around like a headless chicken.

Once again, Unique was awoken by the loud noise of Blui shouting. She marched out of her nest and into the room where the Blui was ranting and raving. "Excuse me sir. You must be Blui, but anyway. Why are you shouting so loudly, is something wrong?" She piped up and tugged on his feathers. She had been disturbed too many times now, and this large phoenii had woke her up. When Blui didn't reply to her she tugged harder on his feathers and even yanked one out. "Excuse me Blui, why are you shouting?" Unique announced.

Blui finally looked down at Unique and rasied his eye brows. "Yes I am Blui, and you must be Unique?" He laughed and picked her up before placing her on his back. "I was shouting because I couldn't find any food in the Eyrie. Plus all the food in storage is gone aswell!" He explianed grumpily and sighed. "I'm so hungry!" Blui whinned and stamped his foot. His eyes narrowed as his temper rose, and he began to charge round the nest. Unique had to cling on for dear life as Blui had his little tantrum.

"WAAAAAIIIIIIIIT!" Unique shouted and pulled on Blui's feathers to get him to stop running around. "I know where some food is! I saw some on the way here, there are lots of fruits on trees not far from here!" She squeaked and hopped down. "I can show you if you want. I'm sure Missie wont midn if we go out for a bit?" The chick suggested and grabbed hold of his wing to pull him towards the exit of the nest.

Blui beamed at Unique, put her back onto his back and took off into the sky. "So where is this delicious looking food? I can't wait to taste some, I'm so hungry!" He whined and dived down to get a better look at the Eyrie. "I've never really noticed how pretty the Eyrie is before. It's so green and full of life!" Blui whispered in awe and swopped lower until he landed outside a bunch of fruit filled trees. "OMG these looks so good, I want to eat them all up!" He then picked a deep red fruit from a large tree and took a deep bite into it. "Mmmmmm, these are so good. Here try some!" Blui laughed and handed one to Unique as she jumped off his back. "We should collect as much as we can and take them back to the others. I'm sure they would enjoy these as much as we do." He suggested and handed some more to Unique as he pciked more.

Unique nodded at Blui and took a small bite into a dark yellow fruit with orange stripes. She smiled broadly at Blui and some juice trickled down her chin. "Oopsies! These fruits are really juicy! I wonder who planted them...probably the Sapphire Phoenix?!" She asked herself and took another bite. After eating atleast 10 fruits each they both became quite full and fell over into the long grass. "I'm stuffed, I take another bite!" Unique maoned and rolled onto her now very round stomach. "But we should get going now if we want to give these to the others before supper time."

Blui slowly nodded at Unique and shakily rose to his feet, his stomach was rounder too. He placed Unique back on his back along with 50 different fruits for the other 5 phoenii back at the nest. He suddenly lurched fowards and within seconds they were back in the air and flying home. "Well that was fun I must say. What a nice way to end the day, let's just hope the teens have behaved."

They eventually arrived at the nest and the fat chickie rolled off of Blui and onto the floor. Her arms were laidened with fruits and they rolled onto the floor in many different colours and patterns. "Everyone lookie what we got!" She shouted to everyone and steadily stood up, trying not to fall over again.

Blui sweatdropped at the now 3 adults and then turned his attention back to Unique. "Well I'm going out with some other male phoenii's! See you later everyone!" He called out to everyone in the nest. Blui then finsihed a mouthful of fruit before once again, taking off into the sky to go meet his friends.

Unique sweetly waved to Blui as he left and then pikced up some fruit to give to Midna. "Midna I have some food for you." She piped up as she entered the other phoenii's room. She spotted Midna sitting in the corner grooming her tail feathers, trying to get blades of grass out from it. "There you are Midna! Here is some fruit for you. Blui and I just picked them from some trees in the Eyrie!" Unique explained and placed the fruit infront other the adult bird. "I hope you like them becasue I know that I did. They are really juicy and delicious!" She then set herself down next to Midna and took a bite into another red fruit, her face beaming in delight.

Midna beamed back at Unique and picked up a blue fruit with yellow spirals on it. She then gingerly took a bite into it and then nodded at the chick in aproval. "You're right, they are so good!" She announced in awe and took another bite. Soon all of her fruit had gone and both phoenii's were laying down on the floor, the stomachs equally round. "I've never had such a good meal before, you're a one of Unique!" Midna laughed and slowly sat up and then pulled Unique to her feet. "Sounds like the 3 teens have realsied that they are now adults. That should make things more interesting in the nest. But I must say that Sashica has blossomed into a beautiful phoenii!" She explained and began to hum a song.

Unique nodded to Midna to show she was listening and rocked from side to side in time with the other phoenii's humming. She felt as if something exciting and new was going to happen but she didn't know what. "I feel really happy for some reason!" She finally piped up and looked up at Midna to see if she was listening. When she got no reply she sighed and leant against the older phoeniis feathers and rested.

Sashica glomped onto Missie and rested her head on her Mother's shoulders. "Oh Mother, how will we cope without Blui?" She whined and buried her head in Missie's feathers. "I don't want him to go, but he had too didn't he Mum?" Sashica whispered and looked up at the purple phoenii.

Retro rolled his eyes and smirked at Sashica. "Come on Sash, stop moaning. You're acting as if you fancied Blui!" He teased her and quickly bolted into his room as Sahica made made a swipe at him. "What's the matter Sashica? So it must be true. You love Blui!" Retro sung and pranced around his room.

"I DO NOT! COME HERE YOU SICK LITTLE PHOENII!!!" Sash screeched and dived into his room. She then latched herself onto him and sank her beak into Retro's shoulder whike scratching him with her talons. "You are so annoying, you know that Retro. I bet you'll never find a mate because you're so immature and sick in the head!" She hissed and ran into her room crying.

Retro once again rolled his eyes at her but he felt a pang of guilt inside of him. "SASH WAIT!" He announced and followed her into her room. "I'm sorry for teasing you like that. I guess old habits die hard, huh?" He apologised and rubbed his sisters back. "Do you forgive me? What would Father say if he saw you crying now?.......Father......." His voice trailed off as he mentioned his Father and his gaze feel to the ground. "We haven't seen him since we were chicks, or our brother and sister!"

Sashica lifted her head to look at Retro in the eye and shook her head. "I forgive you but don't mention Father to me. He left us when we chicks, he left Mother!" She shouted, suddenly full of anger. Her gaze also fell to the floor, she couldn't bare to look at anyone right now. "But we don't need him, we have each other and Troy. We don't need a Father." She whispered and rested her head on her brother's shoulder.

[Retro -18 ]

Midna sat in her room with her eyes closed and her head held high.She wasn't sleeping, she was trying to relax and remember about her past. She could remember being the ruler of her old place and looking about her phoeniis. Then suddenly a strange black and grey phoenii with strange sharp fangs appeared and took over the Twilight realm. Midna fled into the Eyrie and was pciked up ichigo, before that everythign was blank. Maybe the phoenii had erased her memories?
She slowly opened her eyes and smiled as she saw Sashica's head peering round the door. "Come in Sashica if you have something to ask me?" She ushered her in and motioned for her to sit down.

Sashica nervously shuffled in and settled down next to Midna.
"I was just wondering whether you and Everlong are going to breed and have chicks?" She muttered and looked at Midna with her deep red eyes. "Because.....well now that I'm an adult I was thinking about settling down with a mate and breeding. I was too embarrassed to tlak to my brothers or Mother so I thought I'd come to you. How do you know when you've found the right mate?"

Midna chuckled again and gave Sashica a comforting look. "Well firstly, it's not all about looks. Most of the phoeniis go for phoeniis with great personalities. So if the guy you like doesn't have the best patterns it doesn't matter. Secondly you have to get to know him before you can really sure that its love and not just a high-school crush. Thirdly when you've found your mate you should feel really weird around him, he should make you feel nervous, or a strange emotion around him. Thats your senses telling you that he is the right phoenii for you!" She explained wisely and the comforting look changed to a reassuring one.
"And yes, me and Everlong probably will breed soon."

Sashica pursed her beak together and nodded intently. "So when I'm around him I should feel all weird, like im floating?" She repeated and puffed out her chest. "But what if males don't like my personality? What will I do then? I'll be mateless forever!" She whinned and covered her head with her purple/pink/blue wings. "What if they think I've gort the personality of a plank?"

Midna rolled her eyes and lowered Sashica's wings. "I'm sure that won't happen. You've got a great personality inside of you, and you are a very pretty phoenii. One of the prettiest i've ever seen!" She complimented the panicking phoenii and rubebd her back. "All the males will be dying to be your mate!" She whispered and rose to her feet. "Sashica, i want you to waltz out of here with your head held high and believe you are the prettiest phoenii in the world with a great personality. NOW GO!"

Sashica gave Midna a determind look, sprung to her feet and waltzed out of Midna's room with ehr head held high. Her tail was in the air and she looked like a very proud phoenii. Sash then skipped into her room and smiled proudly to herself, she was a pretty phoenii inded.
