Should the shamrock be considered the unofficial symbol of Ireland? The religious ties behind it have offended some non-Christian Irish to my knowledge, though, while I am non-Christian and Irish myself, I don't find it to be offensive in the least bit, as it had a more secular meaning to me growing up. A reconstructionalist pagan I know has quite the gripe with it.
What say you fine people?

I think the harp is fine. Ireland is the only country with a musical instrument as a symbol.

I also thing the harp is fine. I haven't used the shamrock in the guild banners for that reason. Some people are offended by that... I'm Catholic so I really don't mind.

I'm Lutheran and like both. I've noticed that in the US, the St. Patricks day decorations available have frequently segued from shamrocks to 4 leaf clovers.

The harp is a way cooler one. Haha its kinda silly considerin the shamrock as a Christian thing if ya think about it. I am a catholic but when I find a 4 leafed clover my beliefs are shattered hahaha who is the fourth leaf meant to symbolise eh??? hahahahaha

i prefare harps and celtic designs, tbh they have a deeper meaning than a story that my not have taken place. and even as a non-christian i think the celtic crosses are very pretty the shamrock is also too comercial; you go into a souvenir shop and there's a bajillion frekking leprechauns draped in shamrocks, with a group of tourists fangirling over how meaningful they are ><*
