Welcome to the Apologetics and Mock-debate subforum! Here we will learn from eachother, and the Bible, and the Catechism, and the Church Fathers, &c. (&c means "etc." for those of you who don't know, & is actually a combination of the letters E and T, which together make "et," which in Latin means "and." Tada! So &t. stands for et cetera, fun). I believe it is necessary to keep our faith strong, and here, we could do it without annoying protestants to bug us! Yay! I would like to set down a few ground rules: 1. This subforum is strictly for Catholic-Protestant debate (between Catholics, of course, I still don't think we are ready to admit protestants to our Guild). 2. If you take a viewpoint that is different from the Church's official teaching on the matter, take it elsewhere. This subforum is not the place to argue those things. 3. There are to be two kinds of threads on this subforum. One kind of thread will feature a subject, and we will discuss it and support our Church's teaching, and the other kind will have mock-debates revolving around the subject.
Hopefully you all will frequent this subforum, because I think it is important that you do! Yes..

So a majority of the threads, I'm going to start out as articles I have written, with a bunch of support for various subjects. I think this sub-forum should be a place where we can go to find help in our battles against heresies. 3nodding

Question: You said this is just for Protestant-Catholic debates, which is alright. I mean, there's a lot to cover with just that one area. But is there any reason that debates between say Catholics and Athiests or Catholics and Mormons are not allowed in here?

marysservant 1. This subforum is strictly for Catholic-Protestant debate marysservant If you take a viewpoint that is different from the Church's official teaching on the matter, take it elsewhere. . Hmm? How can you have Protestant vs. Catholic when you can't have a viewpoint different than the Church's? I don't really see the point of this subforum if Protestants, Mormons, and non-Christians can't get in.

I don't really see the point of this subforum if Protestants, Mormons, and non-Christians can't get in. They are mock debates. The second quote refers to the position you take when defending Catholic Doctrine. For example, if we were to have a mock debate on the Eucharist, I could say that it is just symbolic if I were presenting a theoritical Protestant argument. However, if I were presenting the theoretical Catholic response, I could not say that the Eucharist is just symbolic.

But let's limit those threads to--let's say--a thread called "Regarding Mormons" or something like that.

I like!! Very good idea. It'll be a nice place to find support for debates with other people...

Hurrah! surprised But I'll just be lurking. I'm not learned enough in my faith, nor foolish enough to think that I can win an argument (even if it's fake!) regarding this. Well, I guess I could get passionate and start pounding my hands on the table or something, and scare them away. But still. sweatdrop

I remember in the past having a guy who was protestant in here... and I didn't like it at all. All he did was debate, and I got no peace rofl
