someone in another thread suggested using neosporin to help with the healing of tattoos. This is wrong. dont ever use polywporin, neosporin, or other wound healing ointments. they react badly with the ink. ive talked ot dozens of artists, and been inked by 5 different artists. theyve ALL said, every single ******** one of em.. to

NOT USE POLYSPORIN, ozonal, anything like that.

use vitamin e based non perfumed gels for the first 3-4 days every 4 hours or so or when it grets dry. after that.. lubriderm works wonders. non perfumed. aloe is no good either.

this is just my advice.. but ive gathered info from dozens of artists and this is the best way to take care of tats that ive found.

KY Jelly is one that the artist I know tells people to use more if they aren't sure what to use.

It was me who said that, and I said it because that's what I used on my tats, and it worked fine. :s

KY is a lubricant. nothing to do with moisturiser. unless i'm wrong. but i'm pretty sure im not. you need moisturiser.

I was simply told to clean it with baby towels (Chubs?) and apply a tiny bit of antibiotic on it for the first couple of days and when I was showering, I had to lyke... apply vaseline on it so it didn't get all wet and stuff.

After that, I just kept on cleaning it with the baby towels and applying odorless lotion on it. D:

I get freaked out and paranoid about every single little detail, but besides that, just that's worked on me, and I now let water fall on it. xP

I have never heard of using KY Jelly on tattoos.

But anyway. Every tattoo artist has their different preferences. As long as whatever you're using doesn't hurt you or damage the color, then who cares.

It was me! And it works wonders. No water can get at it and it's good for the skin. My tat are on my leg soit' hard to keep it ot of the water, especially when I shave me legs.

Tattoos are fine in water, as long as it's not super hot and under there for a long a** time.

yeah i found that out with my hand. i kept it under for too long. i was trying to keep it clear but.. its my ******** hand. ive got a lot of tats, i'd never seen the scabs go watercoloured though. like when you soak a regular scab in water for too long? yeah. 3-4 mins in the shower and my hand was like that.
