The village was founded during the American Colonial Era and hosted a few Revolutionary War battles. Pleasant Valley was named so because it used to be a farming town. Valleys were ideal for farming because the nutrients would accumulate at the bottom of the valleys, thus the village had lots of fertile farmland. The area was known for crop farming, especially potatoes and tomatoes.
After World War II, many GIs and their families moved into Pleasant Valley, but it remained a village until the 1970’s, when people moved into the Valley at a much greater rate and became a town. In the 1990’s there was a surge of new six-bedroom developments as well as smaller, cheaper townhouses. Real estate prices went though the roof.
Now Pleasant Valley is the epitome of suburban sprawl. There is no town center or shopping area, and residents are expected to drive everywhere. Schools are sometimes placed out-of-the-way locations.
Naomi’s house was built in the 1970’s, and she moved in during the 1980’s. She was one of the first Asian Americans to live in Pleasant Valley. During her fourteen years at Pleasant Valley, she has seen many people move in, especially Asian Americans, and she has seen a trend towards larger and larger houses.

Bio (Digest Version): Naomi Hamilton is the head of household from her family. She and her brother Kastor left their old family because their mother and father did not treat them right. Although she accepts what had happened in the past, she is not the type to share the pain from her past because she thinks that there is no benefit to having the past hold her down. She took her name from the name of the place where she came from, Hamilton County. As a head of household of one of the newest pureblood families, she takes her role seriously. She also hates the Death Eaters and is pretty active in politics for a student.
Naomi is the first of the Hamiltons to come to Hogwarts. When Naomi came to Hogwarts, she told the Hat that she wanted to be a Gryffindor because, according to her, she was NOT brave. She has had trouble passing her classes since day 1 of Hogwarts. Naomi knows the value of education (which is not just grades) and tries hard to understand the material despite her learning disability. She also plays Quidditch; she usually plays seeker but she places chaser on the house team.
