I have come to somewhat of an odd realization

Does my theory seem sound in principle?
  Yes, I like it.
  Hmm... It's worth some consideration.
  No...Just no.

All right, think back in time. WAY back... No, keep going... You're almost there...

SLAP

Thanks, I needed that.

Anyway, think all the way back to the beginning, back to the Dark Ages of Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon (When La Jinn was the strongest you could get without a tribute.)

Back in those days you may have gotten a card in a booster pack that really seemed to have no use. Well, not to seem like the guy who bumps in the main forum, but I'm bringing this baby up from the darkest depths of time.

Attention Duelists!
My hair would like to introduce you to... THIS!

No, I haven't completely lost my mind, I just noticed something in the wording of the effect that may be the break that people have wanted against those pesky decks that just love to have certain cards in the graveyard.

(For those people who don't get what I mean, I'm talking about Cyber Dragon and how it's turned into the most evil and broken fusion I have ever faced down, Chimeratech Overdragon. It's also fun to use against this one guy I know who runs a pretty decent Helpoemer Deck.)

You see, here's the thing. There is a line of text in the card that I, personally, believe makes it much more valuable than it seems.

Here's how it works:

"Select two monster cards from your opponent's graveyard. These monster cards are removed from play for the remainder of the duel."

As I interpret it, this means that not only are the selected cards removed from play, but they can not be brought back into play by any means until the end of the duel.

What does this mean?

No using any of these on the selected monsters:

Dimension Fusion
Return From The Different Dimension

(Anything past this point is really only added to make a point.)
D.D.M. - Different Dimension Master
Miracle Dig
Miraculous Descent
Layard the Liberator
Elemental Hero Electrum

Etc. Etc. Etc.

So anyway, that's my take on the subject, your thoughts?

Let's hear it for random discoveries made while doing Spring Cleaning in your card collection!!

Till next time,
You stay classy, Yugioh Guild of Gaia.

I remember the good old days of beast-down decks, facing la-jinns, harpies brother and fearing the almighty summoned skull. Alas those days are over.

Not a bad card to use against decks that depend on manipulating their graveyards, and since the monsters cannot be brought back for the remainder of the duel, it'll slow those cyber dragon/chimera tech decks.

I haven't invested in any of the newer decks yet, so I still play with my classic Blue Eyes and Suijinn cards, etc...

Gravedigger Ghoul is a really good card to use for the purpose of removing monsters that your opponent could try to bring back from the duel. Also, if a monster increases their stats depending on monsters from their grave, like Shadow Gohoul, this trick can definitely keep their attack/defense low.

You'll have to look up the text of the current card if they printed it again.

I doubt it will work because at the time there was nothing to bring back the out of play cards. Now there are lots of cards that can do this. So I think it is invalid at this point sadly

Select up to 2 Monster Card(s) from your opponent's Graveyard. Remove the selected card(s) from play.
Rulings
[Re: Necrovalley] "Necrovalley" negates costs and effects that require removing cards from the Graveyard. So "Necrovalley" WILL prevent a player from removing cards in the Graveyard from play to activate the effect of "Bazoo the Soul-Eater" or "Chaosrider Gustaph". "Necrovalley" WILL prevent a player from removing cards in the Graveyard from play to Special Summon "Dark Necrofear" or "Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning". "Necrovalley" WILL negate card effects like "Big Burn", "Gravedigger Ghoul", "Disappear", and "Soul Release".

this what they say on the rulings site. Clearly it does not work in the way previously indicated
