The TribeA virus created for bio warfare backfired, wiping out the entire adult population. This Virus left kids and teenagers to survive without adults, without laws, without safety, and without everything they need to live. With the complete fall of civilization as they know it, the kids band together in tribes. Tribes all have their own separate names, dress codes, beliefs and attitudes. Some tribes are power-hungry and malevolent, others are simply trying to get by. Based on the Cloud 9 series "The Tribe." The Main Tribes
The Mall Rats The Mall Rats are the democratic, mediator tribe created due to the current chaos in the city. They are idealistic and hopeful in a better world and attempt to protect themselves and others who need help. Hoping to protect themselves from other tribes. They fear the Locusts and the Demon Dogs but are an ally with the echo’s who they trade and work with. Their hide out is the Mall (duh) which has many resources for them to live from.
The Locusts The Locusts, otherwise known as the Locos, are the book-burning anarchists who plan on dominating the city. They spend their time terrorizing the streets by driving around in a beaten-up cop car striking fear into the hearts of any kids that hear their sirens approaching. Their main area of operation is the Rail yard and the Horton bailey Hotel.
The Demon-Dogs When The Demon-Dogs aren't busy fighting the Locust, who they have sworn enemies, they can most often be found lazing about in a warehouse, drunk. With far less organization or direction than the Locos, The Demon-Dogs present slightly less of a threat to the city in general. However, you still wouldn't want to run into a member of this tribe in a dark alley late at night.
The Eco Tribe Hidden away, deep in the forest, the Eco Tribe have gone back to nature in response the collapse of civilization. Experts in sneaking around undetected, it is said that nobody finds the Eco Tribe without them wanting to. Generally able to take care of themselves, through necessity, they are a force to be reckoned with, and a useful ally, if they can be persuaded that something needs fighting for, and is worth abandoning their security and secrecy for. The Technos While the Technos vehemently deny that they are a tribe, disdaining what they see as a childish rabble's game, their structure, while perhaps more rigid, is very similar to that of a tribe.
Tribe Ranks:

Seer – help run the tribe with the leader Guardian – Keep the peace within the tribe as well as protecting Negotiator - Negotiates with other tribes and within them Farmer – deals with animals, vegetables, fruits Trader - trades amongst various tribes, a pretty dangerous job Scout - usually the fastest of the tribe, used as look out or explores different areas
If you have any more Tribe or rank ideas I will add them.

Since then he's been enrolled in all of the top-ranking schools and passing with flying colors. Though with simple success comes boredom. In his own time Sairin liked to create mock viruses and use them against people. They weren't bad things but people would notice they couldn't eat rice anymore or they were all of a sudden allergic to their favorite perfumes. Soon after his joy ended when the virus hit. It took his mother first since she was exposed during medical emergencies, his father was slow to go and in the time he went he showed Sairin a sample of the virus, sealing it in a small vial and handing it to him. He left Sairin with a task that has made his life all work and no play. A cure, the vial is now a burden around his neck as if a twenty pound weight were strapped instead of smooth metallic vial. ~ Starts ~ Sirens echoed through out the street. All those who were of sound body and mind would hide if they knew what was good for them. Darissa, her skates making a rather noisy drag on the city streets, turned down an alley and hid behind a dumpster. She was one of those who knew what was best for them. She had neither the patients nor the physical strength to deal with the Locusts, the self proclaimed dictators of the city. She frowned bitterly at the idea as the battered and graffiti cop car drove past the alley. The Mistress standing up out of the sunroof in all her daunting glory, her companions ready to jump on any poor soul who dared get in their way
Erika stood, high and mighty above her underlings as they did their ‘daily patrol.’ It was more a way to put the fear of day into those that had not died of the virus, but either way, she had fun doing it. She held a dreadfully beautiful smirk on her face, eyes aware for any movements to send her partners off to capture or beat a perpetrator. If there was one thing Erika hated more than the dank stench of decay, it was those who stood up to her. She would have none of that.

Alice heard the distant cries of the sirens. She sighed knowing the mayhem they were spared from.
“Come Let us offer our thanks to the goddess.”
They bowed their heads and said the silent prayer. Taking up the food they ate. It was so peaceful in the forest. Alice rose going to the borders to chat with her head of security.
“How have things been today?” “Quiet mother…” “That’s good. Why don’t you go get your dinner now, it’s time for a shift change anyway.” she smiled at him and went back to feeding her followers.

“Return to the hotel,” Erika called to her the driver, “I have some business I must attend too.” Of course, no questions were asked about that ‘business.’ Her underlings had learned long ago that Erika did not like to be questioned. Inquiries showed signs of mistrust and ignorance.
Erika sat down in the back of the cop car, no longer caring to stand. She closed her eye deep in thought as she crossed her legs.
Food had been low for quiet sometime and the scouts were bringing back nothing. Her last resort was to the Echo tribe who were situated outside the city. It would be dangerous to stray from their preferred turf but for food and for her tribe, Erika would take that risk.

Sai wasn't one for big crowds so naturally as the sirens sounded he was nowhere to be found. It kept him safe to be out of the vicinity where the Locusts and Demon-Dogs reigned their little urban kingdom. Sighing as he thought about the poor souls who would be caught in the streets. Sai looked out of the window of the house he had made his own. It sat up high on a hill, pretty close to the mall actually.
He had seen things taking a turn for the worst and he had decided being safe was better than being sorry. When his Aunt took ill thanks to the virus he went to visit her, staying in her 13 bedroom home with no one else to keep him company but that quickly fading Aunt of his.
As she passed on, he gathered supplies to stock the warehouse of a basement below, dry foods and canned goods along with meat and vegetables to stalk the walk in freezer. The more the better, gallons on gallons of water had been delivered to the house before they just stopped coming. He had reinforced the doors and had security systems placed in, all this was for his safety and the safety of hose around him. He couldn't have people breaking in and messing with the virus.
In a way he thought back to a game he had played, Resident Evil. His home was like the hive, just less sophisticated, but the hazards were still there, because he was constantly working with the virus and such he didn't know how much it had mutated, it could very well start harming the people he vowed to save. Snapping back to himself he saw the car driving by, their leader perched atop the police car.
As they went by he decided he needed a break from all the stressful work he had been doing, it had been a straight 16 hour shot from morning until late in the evening. Sighing he grabbed his only protection, a 9mm glock his father used to keep under the bed. He slipped two clips in his pocket and strapped the glock to his lower back. After he slid on a sweater he checked his eyeliner and mascara in the mirror and waltzed out the front door.
He closed the door tightly, hearing s slight hiss as it was sealed shut, another safety measure. All five exit doors had been fitted with air sealants, it had been costly but his parents life insurance had left him a hefty sum of cash. Punching in the door lock code he made sure everything was locked down, shutters rolled down over the windows and he smiled softly thanking god his Aunt had been late in her years and paranoid.
The walk down the hill was normally fast but he wanted to get in the city and roam around, look for people who needed help. His pessimistic side told him it was a waste of time. Though he tried every night, climbing on the black Ducati he revved up the engine and turned the cycle around, driving down the windy path to the city he passed the mall going at speeds of 85 miles an hour, it was a cruising pace to him as his eyes were constantly scanning the area ahead and to either side of him.
He was always alert for potential dangers and stragglers. He made a few turns down some side streets when he heard the sirens getting closer, he must have gone into their oncoming path. Muttering under his breath he turned the bike down an alley and jumped off, hiding it behind a dumpster and taking the keys. Making sure he was quiet he inched backward, bumping into something he felt his heart skip a beat as he turned quickly his arms snapping back and whipping the 9mm out, aiming it at his threat. Though he didn't lower it as he looked up at the gaudy looking girl. She wore too much make-up in his opinion, or maybe too many colors.
Eyeballing her he inched backwards,"What's your name and what Tribe do you belong to?" He didn't want to intimidate her but he also didn't want her to think he wasn't a threat. His eyes were also scanning the area around him, making sure this wasn't some kind of ambush.

"Mother!" Samuel the tribes watchman came running towards her. "mother.." he panted. "We spotted a cop car in the distance, we believe it is heading for our forest. what do you want us to do?"
"Send all the troops to their posts. if they come, we will be ready." Samuel nodded and rushed off. Alice gathered all the women and they hurried and cleaned the remains of dinner and rushed indoors. making sure they were safe Alice went and waited.

Darissa gave the punk kid a once over. He was short, obviously young, and had the nerve to point a gun at her. She probably should have been frightened, but her past experiences weighed out her fear of the gun.
“My name and tribe are of no concern of yours,” she hissed, paying more attention to the fading siren, “now unless you plan on shooting me, which I presume you will not considering the Locos and possibly the Demon dogs will hear, I suggest you put the gun away.” She gave him an impatient look, the same look a mother would give to a child when telling him to put something back.
Erika and her cronies pulled out of the city towards the country side. The whole while, the frown on Erika’s brows grew deeper. She hated being at the mercy of a rival but she could always take the farm by force considering the man power she had gathered over the past few months. However, none of her men were skilled in the arts of growing plants and looking after live stock.
“Can’t you go any faster?” she barked agitatedly. She would have to stick with trading what they had. Batteries, books (which they usually burned), matches, medicines, and other such things that could be found in the city, Erika was willing to trade for food.
The car began to slow as they reached the dirt road which wasn’t far. Nevertheless, Erika expected that she would see them long before they got to the farm.
From her peripheral vision, she could already tell they were being watched. Her cohorts were already nervous, gripping their bats and hockey sticks tightly.
“Stop the car.” The order was performed and Erika opened the door.
“Echo’s,” she yelled, knowing that they could hear her, “I have a proposition for you.”
