Floating through the darkness
the loneliness of my mind
unable to move
unable to breathe
a voice calls through the air
a beacon of light
in an endless sea of dark
it calls to me
beckoning
pleading for my return
I start to drift back into consciousness
feeling tears falling upon my face
I feel my own tears as well
as memories and feelings
all flood back
the sadness
the loneliness
the pain
I open my eyes
to see her mask of beauty
her tear-streaked face brightens
at my awakening
she hugs me close
tells me never to leave her again
that she loves me
and always will
she says she's sorry
that we shouldn't fight
that she'll never again say
such hateful words
that she'll control her anger
but please
oh god please
never try to leave again
