Gamestop is not an official source. October 1 is an estimated release date that they put up for sake of orders.
The game kind of can't be pushed back because there hasn't been a set date to push back.

majelikon first i heard June 1st, but now i hear October 1st It's not coming out in June. There's pretty much no chance of a release before the third quarter of 2007.

while there is no offical date.
Will Wright said "steptember-ish"......so I'm waiting AROUND september.

Scratch that....a good reason why that site is not offical is because EA jsut delayed it....
No spore for 2007.

Will Wright has said numerous times that they're almost done. EA is ******** retarded. Also, if it DOES get delayed until 2009, it better ******** have underwater civilizations.

OMG its true!!!!!!!!!!!! Now hearing this is like getting a swift kick to the....face.
What are teh chances there screwing around and they really are going to release it this year?
And last i think it was really gay that Will Wright kept pushing the news of spore for about a year know and then have it pushed back almost another entire year. Will Wright should get his own Able to piss of millions of people award

But Will Wright has a near perfect track record...I have faith in him.

It probably wasn't fully EA's fault to delay the Spore release date. It's probably was Will Wright's wanting to make Spore seem perfect when it's released.
I know the Sims 1 could have been released a year earlier than it was but was delayed for a year to make all the custom content and community polished and ready to go.
Now these days when people think about the Sims, they would say the community and the customizing is one of the best aspects of the game.
I don't mind if Spore gets delayed a little, you could always buy games while your waiting. No need to get all hyped up for something that you know won't come out for a while just to get you hopes dashed when it doesn't come out on that day.
Although, if Spore doesn't come out before 2020, I'll probably be disapointed then.
