The City of Merville.
It's a large city built in serveral inter-connected domes which are filled with air and radiate light which mimics that of the sun's warm rays. Inside the dome, the city is dry, and filled with people who sport gills on both their wrists, but they breath the air here. Plants of various types grow here. Houses are beautifully built, and the entire population is one large family. The city itself is populated by an amphibious people who used to live in harmony with the folk of Atlantis.
A large side of the dome is painted with a beautiful mural of the war that resulted in the destruction of Atlantis:
Centuries ago, Atlantis began their race for advancements in technology, which began polluting the waters. Atlanticians breathed air, and didn't care what shape the water was in. Ambassadors of Merville negotiated long and hard with the folk of Atlantis, until, finally, it was decided that war was the only thing that could resolve the issue.
The first of Mervillian evolution created those with special abilities to affect the environment and living creatures with their singing: These were the Songstress. During the war, Atlantis fought with their technology, and Mervillians fought using Songstresses. In the end, both sides suffered great losses, when Songstresses sang away their lives to shake down the walls of Atlantis, collapsing their entire city and killing their population. Atlantis, since then, became a legend.
Not long after the war, those of Merville decided it was their God-given right to live forever. They were above the humans, they were above even those who built Atlantis. The ritual was then begun that a Songstress was elected every century to reverse the effects of aging in the Mervillian population by singing her life-energy away. That they now had all eternity, the people of Merville became lazy and stopped creating.
The city is slow, and it's as though life itself here is screeching to a halt.

Audyhnnh "Tsk...! HEY!" he said, almost kicking her. His legs were what was bleeding this time. "I can do it myself," he said. Just as she was ready to protest and argue when had Audyhnnh ever bothered changing his own bandages, she found herself in a rather familiar setting. Getting up, she looked around and gasped, tears falling from her eyes.
"This... this is..." she gasped in both shock and joy.

He realized that he was suddenly in another environment as he look ahead and saw the large mural on the dome. He could hear people walking by, murmuring loudy about his looks. He looked around to find his friend, wondering if she had come with him this time.

"Audyhnnh! I'm right here," she laughed, waving her hand in front of his face, noticing that he was looking about for her.
It was then that she realized she was no longer solid flesh, for she could see through her hand and at Audyhnnh's face. Finally, the surroundings began growing louder, as though someone slowly turned the volume dial up on a radio with but static playing.
"...I'm right here..." she repeated quietly, sighing, wondering if she could be heard.

"I can see you," he said quietly, putting his hand -through- her form. "I see you, but..." he started saying, but felt a number of people violently tackle him from behind.
"AAAARRRRGGH!!" he roared, standing up abruptly and throwing the attackers off his back. He stood still, glaring at the assailants, a ring of fire rippling up from around his feet.

"He's a monster!!!"
Selurnis could hear a crowd screaming those words repeatedly. Some of the crowd were starting to throw rocks or whatever random objects they could find.
"Audyhnnh! Please, calm down!"
As soon as the words parted her mouth, she saw a sharp rock fly through her chest, shooting for Audyhnnh.

He had just about lost control of his temper. He was never one who cared for keeping his anger in check to begin with, and the fire built and grew until spires of flames whipped at the on-lookers and attackers.
"Begone with you!!" he roared at the crowd that had gathered at his horrific appearance.

"Audyhnnh!!" she ran and threw herself on top of him, but fell through, falling to the ground. The people of Merville were a wary one. Within their own popluation, everyone was family, but they never took to any stranger as kindly.

Selurnis "Audyhnnh!!" she ran and threw herself on top of him, but fell through, falling to the ground. The people of Merville were a wary one. Within their own popluation, everyone was family, but they never took to any stranger as kindly. His anger consumed his corroding body even more quickly than usual. He could feel more blood start to stain his bandages. He felt a cold essance course through his body as Selurnis's ghostly form fell through him. He shuddered... and fell to the ground with a heavy THUMP.

Absolutely terrified at seeing Audyhnnh crash to the ground, she screamed at the top of her lungs, her ghostly body shaking like boughs of a tree being ravaged by heavy winds. Just then, she began to phase away again...

She stepped through the door of the Brink.
Right away she wanted to run and find Audyhnnh, but she paused, looking at her hands and the rest of her body. She was transparent again... just a shade, a phantom or ghost of herself.
Struggling to stay strong, she sighed and stood still, trying to focus and figure out what to do next. She turned her head from side to side, wondering if anyone was around.

*A figure seems to stand out in the crowd. He wears a volumnous cape with the cowl pulled down. Moving through the crowd, he stops short of where Selurnis is standing. When he speaks, his voice it both stern and soft, with a strange familiarity to it*
You shouldn't just stand in the middle of the street lady. What's your deal, anyway? People in your condition are either in some kind of trouble or haven't figured out how to move on. I'm guessing the first.
*As the person shifts, a red eye and a locke of purple hair can be seen from under the cowl*

Tavin *A figure seems to stand out in the crowd. He wears a volumnous cape with the cowl pulled down. Moving through the crowd, he stops short of where Selurnis is standing. When he speaks, his voice it both stern and soft, with a strange familiarity to it* You shouldn't just stand in the middle of the street lady. What's your deal, anyway? People in your condition are either in some kind of trouble or haven't figured out how to move on. I'm guessing the first. *As the person shifts, a red eye and a locke of purple hair can be seen from under the cowl* For a brief moment she stares straight ahead, like she could see through the person in front of her the way everyone else can see through her. But she looked into the face of the person before her and realized he was looking right at her.
"Oh...!" She waved her hand slowly in front of herself. It was still transparent. "You can see me...?"
The crowd of people had started to move towards a large structure near the end of the town. She could hear some of them were saying something about a strange man in a cloak and she could hear someone roaring in rage above all the people's chattering.
"That's Audyhnnh...!" she gasped, almost ready to run after him. But she knew there was nothing she could do. She turned to the man in front of her, "Please... If you can see me -would you please help me?"

With all the people crowding him and moving him, he was slipping in and out of consciousness. When he was conscious, he made it known he was angry, but he knew these were Selurnis' people, and he tried his best to not lash out and kill them...

*A sigh issues from under the cowl, and the person shakes his head*
I'm really trying to find someone else.... Its very important that I.....
*He stops and shakes his head again, muttering to himself*
Know thy place in the world.......
*Tavin throws back his cowl and smiles*
Lets go help your friend, then. I would suppose that would be the ruckus over yonder? I'll let you lead. make sure you point him out.
