I recently got into this series after buying the first three volumes. It was a series I always wanted to try, so I finally just broke down and bought it. And I'm, VERY glad I did! It is a wonderful series and true to CLAMP's style. Even more interesting is that it crosses over with CLAMP's other on-going series, Tsubasa Chronicles. There has been strong evidence that the two leads, Kimihiro Watanuki and Syaoran [the original] have a strong connection to each other somehow. So perhaps the two series will be more intertwined than we realize!
