I hear it
the soft tick ticking
of our lives
and I swallow down
The bittersweet coctail
of your lies.
Half my dna
belongs to you
but it is not my need
all my life I've missed you, now
you're nothing but
a broken dream.
My sleepy dreams
were nieve, why didn't I see
you would always be half gone
upon the wind
twice as fast, soundless
as a willow frond.
If I shut my eyes
and bang my head
I can almost see your face
always closed, an imaginary
father to a childs dream
gone without a trace.
You missed it all
eccept my first steps
always missing, never their
I had missing places
inside of me
but who were you to care.
When I came to you
taller now, on my own
you were hurt that I was grown
so you failed to see
the seeds of love
you had sown.
So when I walked away
at the gate, In my pain
I failed to see, you had things
you wished to say
to ease the ache
I didn't know that you had seen.
I don't know how to
start again, anew
In my deepest dreams I fear
that walking back will be
to hard and, empty places will
remain inside my mirror.
I wish I could
run to you
straight into your open arms
but the distance
is so great between our souls
I fear to bring you harm.
So watch me daddy
as I twirl on the tv screen
In the photographs, I dance for you
Someday, Someday Daddy
maybe on my wedding day
we can dance together too...

I thought your poem was deep and showes a love of poetry that I wish I had. Shows a glimpse of pain in another's soul like a hole in a cloth lets through little beams of sunlight. You have done a good job.

This is...just absolutely spectacular.
So powerful it's not even funny. By the time I read the last line...I couldn't help but start crying.
