Amesi had finally decided that the Pridelands was the best place in the whole world to be. She hadn't ever been outside of the Pridelands to visit any other places, but for all that she had seen of the Pridelands she figured that there simply couldn't be anything better. The Pridelands had everything:
There were plenty of watering holes where she could take a refreshing drink or to simply rest by; there were loads of other lions about of all ages in which she could converse and befriend; there was the seemingly endless plains of pure bliss where she was free to roam and traverse without the threat from other big predators; there was the bright sun, always beating down affectionately upon the lands; and then there was her family, big and loving. Nothing could have been better than this, she decided.
"I'm going for a walk daddy!" she called over her shoulder, already racing off. She didn't bother to actually walk, since she knew that would just give her father more time to contemplate letting her go and eventually change his mind. And the small white juvenile didn't want to spend another second under the ever watchful gaze of her father. She loved him with all of her heart, it was true, but he was too protective at times. He seemed to be afraid of some unseen force that could gobble her up at any moment. But she hadn't been gobbled yet, and so she saw no reason to be kept stuck at the den.
She wanted to go meet new lions and go on adventures!
Bouncing excitedly through the grasses, growing father and farther from the den, Amesi couldn't wait to explore. What wonders would she meet today?

Arasi toddled through grasses taller than himself, exploring the world outside his family's den and the comfortable chaos that was life as one of four brothers. They were allowed to wander as long as they didn't go too far; the Pridelands was a very safe place, after all, full of kind and honorable lions. So he was told, anyway - he just knew his brothers, mother, and his nanny Sheshe! But they were certainly right, so he wasn't scared at all to walk from the den into the bright sun.
...even if it did feel a little lonely to be out in a big wide place with nobody right there next to you! Arasi didn't move very quietly, and rustled quite a bit until he came to grass he could actually see over. Well, he still rustled, but at least he could see where he was going now.
He blinked bright green eyes, peering around until he spotted something much lighter, but with a touch of dark. Another lion! Beaming, he proceeded to lope right over, fully intending to pounce on them, just the way he would any of his siblings.

Amesi stopped bouncing about ten yards after she had started. She was far enough from the den where her father wouldn't bother coming after her, and so she took the opportunity to check her surroundings and figure out where she wanted to go for the day.
But in the midst of her checking out her surroundings, something rustled about her. It was really faint, almost to the point where she had to strain to hear the noise. But it was there, and it was moving around her. Flicking her tail with predatory instincts, she crouched low and pressed her ears down against her skull. None of this had been taught to her, and so she looked awkward and highly untrained as she bumbled forward on her toes.
A second went by, then another, then finally she sprung from the grasses! She wasn't sure what she was pouncing on, but she was soon to find out. Looking down with bright blue eyes, she looked at her 'prey', which happened to be a large bug.
Finding it funny that she had done all of that just for a bug, Amesi backed off and started giggling to herself, the bug seizing the moment to flee.
"A bug!" she said loudly, unaware that she was being stalked by another cub. Shaking her head with amusement, she bounded forward again, going right past Arasi, just a few feet in front of him.
Obviously, she wasn't paying attention. She was in too good of a mood to worry about anyone being around her.

Naturally, Arasi attributed his not-being-noticed to skillful stealth, completely oblivious to the fact that he didn't have any at all. Tail raised jauntily behind him, he watched the larger cub catch a bug and then dash off again while he was too busy staring curiously. So he bounded right after, scrambling to leap at her with a high-pitched, playful "Rrararr~!"

Amesi proceeded through the grasses, tail flicking eagerly as she wondered again where she should explore today. But before she could really make a decision, something popped out of the grasses with a strange sound coming from his mouth.
"Whaa--" she began, but in the next moment she was tumbling in the dirt, her white coat dirtied to the point where it almost wasn't white anymore.
Giggling, as she wasn't in the least concerned that it was someone who wanted to hurt her, the juvenile eventually ended up laying on her back, her paws flailing up in the air. She laughed and rolled on to her side, looking around for whoever had pounced on her.
"That was FUN!" she giggled.
