Developer: JAGEX
Setting: Medieval Fantasy
Release Date: 29th March 2004
System Requirments:
- Low detail: 64 MB RAM, 300 MHz CPU
- High detail: 128 MB RAM, 500 MHz CPU

F2P: Yes
P2P: roughly $15AUS, monthly

Background: Runescape is set in the world of Gielinor, a land once cursed under the God wars. After the Gods decided to move to another plane, the lesser races started to fight for dominance. Soon, humans found use of Runes, mystical stones that allowed the most magically inadequate person to reign magic upon their opposors. With this new found power, the Human race took up dominance over the lands of Gielinor.

As an adventurer, you start out with no skill, in a time where the art of crafting runes is lost, and the already stocked supply is dwindling. Will you harnish your potential to be a mighty adventurer? Or will the human race fall under the other races of the world who strive to be dominant?

Information:
- Over 100 servers
- Over 20 skills, each with their own unique methods of training
- Great variety of gameplay, ranging from dark, tainted woods surounding a vampiric mansion to icey mountain peaks inhabitated by a unique species of troll
- Over 100 quests, ranging from something as simple as fetching ingredients for a cake to something great, such as defeating a group of high level magi in order to unlock the secrets of a long-forgotten pyramid
- Over 50 spells, over several spell books: Prefer combat? Ancient Magick puts an impressive damage on your foe. Or perhaps you would like to change to the team-helping Lunar Magic?
- Many options in "what to do next"

Advantages:
- Many skills to train, including over 5 member skills
- Roughly 20 quests to accomplish, furthered to 100+ for members
- Vampiric-riddled harshlands of Mortanyia, the ice cold mountains of the Ice Trolls, the buzy cities of Falador of Varock: Many many many places for adventurers to visit
- Very low download, all you need is JAVA and your good to go
- Easy to run
- Constant updates for the paying members
- A forum for discussion, better marketing or Role Play

Disadvantages:
- Poor graphics due to its major use of JAVA
- Larger "noob" community as opposed to other games
- Larger evidence of scamming
- Incredibly poor marketing system
- Easy to get bored of from an f2p point of view
- Quite easy to give up on for someone with low patience

theres guild wars, its a MMO thats possible to play solo all the through the game, but what fun would that be? theres 3 versions for this game:
prophecies(not shown on box), factions, and nightfall. none of these are expansions, just different classes and storylines. these are the classes thats available in any of the 3 games:
warrior, ranger, monk, elementalist, mesmer(hexes opponents), and necromancer
nightfall and factions have two unique classes available only for those games:
factions: assassin & ritualist(uses summons)
nightfall: dervish(scythe wielding holy desert warrior) and paragon(natural leader)
prophecies has no extra classes
the gameplay is similar to that of runescape: click on the opponent and watch it die! unlike runescape, you NEVER fight alone, for you can get killed in an instant. i own nightfall, and my favorite class is the dervish, for their scythe skills and the ability to change into the form of one of 5 gods.
anyway, its a pretty good game
