I was looking up The Long Walk just cause I was bored and it's my favorite Stephen King book and lookie what I found and screenshot on Wikipedia'a The Long Walk page. I know it's not totally reliable, but just the fact that it might be true.

It's exciting. I've been waiting for a film adaption for a long long time, about 8 years. My only worry is if tha casting is off, the movie will be off. Buit seriously, exciting, at least to me.

The Long Walk wasn't my favorite of the Bachman books by far, but it was pretty good by itself. However, I don't much take to movies based off of books. I think ******** directors need to come up with their own ideas or hire writers to write screenplays instead of turning books into screenplays.

Yes, but then the product is something like "Black Christmas" or "Napoleon Dynamite". Better to stick with books if you can't think of a good idea.

it all depends on who does it, who is cast in it and the general feeling of the movie and weither or not it can capture the true feelings in the book.

The Long Walk was one of my favorite Bachman books I just don't think they will adapt it into a movie well. I think it was one of those things that is so much better as a book that when I watch the movie I won't be able to help but cringe, grind my teeth and mutter about how "that's soo not right".
I just have been very disappointed with the movie adaptations lately. 1408 was just...I didn't care for it. I mean, I liked it for what it was but they went more "haunted hotel helps this guy with his issues" rather then where I felt the story itself was pure "Haunted Hotel", I wanted that. I wanted more haunted hotel and less of this guy's personal life.
Depseration also came out not long ago and it was dreadful. It just lacked a certain passion.
I swear, I watch these movies and sometimes I wonder if these people have ever read a book ever.

as far as movies based on books goes for me , I like them if they are done right. Frank Miller did the right thing with Sin City. the actually used the comic book as the script for the movie. I wished that King was that carefukk when letting someone do a book based on his movies. But then again some would be borderline porn. rofl

Yeah, I don't know. I liked the story A LOT, but agree that it won't transfer well onto the big screed. King's movies all sort of do that (witht he exception of The Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption). King is a writer. He wants us to create the characters into our own imaginations. He wants us to be imaginative, not have some over paid schmuck ruin it for us.
