Aranya flew over the Eyrie lazily before picking a spot close to the stream to alight herself.
Dipping her beak into the cooling water, she took a quick sip and looked around. The grass was getting tall around this part, it didnt look like many phoenii came this way, or at least, they hadnt in a while. She wasnt sure if she should stay here, but decided she might as well, she really didnt feel like launching herself again, and it was so peaceful here.

Blui had been sleeping in a tall oak tree not too far from where Aranya was and was awoken by the sound of a phoenii landing. He lazily opened one emerald green eye and gazed down at the beautiful red and white phoenii below him. A wide grin appeared on the face of the blue phoenii as he silently took off from the tree and landed infront of the female. Blui at first ignored Aranya and took a sip of the cool icy water before lifting his head up and caught the other phoenii's gaze.

Aranya blinked in surprise at the appearance of the blue phoenii and tried to cover her shock at seeing another phoenii here.
She locked eyes with him and tried to measure him up. She noticed that they shared the same green eyes. Maybe it was an omen of sorts?
Finally she gathered herself together enough to make vocal contact.
"Hello"

Blui continued to look into Aranya's eyes, not wanting to drop his gaze. He rasied one eye brow at the female and ruffled his feathers, their eyes still locked.
"Hello there." He replied in his smooth voice and noticed she had green eyes too. His own flickered briefly with excitement but his face didn't show this emotion. "Why are you on your own out here?"

Aranya tilted her head slightly at the question before answering evenly. "I felt like exploring, I stopped here for a drink and to rest a little before continuing. What about yourself? I didn't think any other phoenii came here."
She refused to let the eye contact break, she just allowed the quickest of blinks every now and again. This phoenii fascinated her and she didnt know why.

Blui breathed in slowly and then out again, trying to relax himself in this peaceful place.
"The Teens in my nest just realsied that they are now adults and are celebrating like mad phoeniis. I needed to get away from all of the commotion so I came out here and fell asleep in that oak tree." The phoenii explained with a slight chuckle. He was transfixed on this phoenii but he had no idea why. Sure she was pretty and all but he didn't think he was the type to like a girl.

Aranya chuckled softly as she understood how he felt. After all, there had been so many teens in her nest that she had also seen grow up.
"Teenagers tend to be like that" she replied with a smile. "So what are you going to do now that you've woken up?"

"You're telling me!" Blui announced with a smile and stared at the floor. This phoenii didn't seem so bad, and he knew for sure she wasn't a threat to him so there was no need to lcok eyes anymore.
"I don't really know. I don't have anything planned for today except sleep and maybe some more sleep. But I doubt I'll be able to get back to sleep, especially now that i've seen a very pretty phoenii!" He cooed and then covered his beak, realising what he had just said. His cheeks had turned to a reddish colour now in embarrassment so he turned away so Aranya couldn't see him blush.

Aranya tried to to gasp at the sudden break in eye contact before blushing and ducking her head as he called her pretty. She watched him turn away from her after the comment and frowned softly. Had she done something to upset him? She yearned to go to him, but didnt know how her would react.
Determined to keep up contact, she tried to continue the conversation.
"I dont think I'll be leaving here as quickly as I had planned either. If there hadn't of been another phoenii around, I might not of stayed. I'm so sorry if I interupted your sleep though..."

Blui's embarrassment quickly disappeared as Aranya didn't mention anything about it, so he turned back around and shook his head. "No not at all. I shouldn't sleep all day anyway, Missie says it's bad for my health!" He chuckled and sweatdropped. "Besides I haven't spoken to anyone outside of my nest for ages. It's good to meet new people and have conversations with them. Even if I do talk to phoenii out of my nest they are usually males, so talking to a female phoenii is a first for me!" Blui softly explained and shuffled his feet.

Her mind raced as he mentioned another phoenii. Was this other phoenii his mate? She wouldnt be surprised to find out if he was already mated, there was something oddly magnetic about him.
"Is Missie your mate?" she asked before she could stop herself. She gasped at her outburst as it was so out of character. Recovering from that, she continued. "I havnt met many phoenii outside of my nest. The few times I have, they dont talk to me for long. I guess I'm as new to talking to males is as unusual for me as talking to females is for you.."

Blui looked taken aback by the sudden outburst and tried to stop himself from laughing. He merely shrugged it off and grinned uncontrolably at Aranya. "No no no no! Missie is the oldest Phoenii in my nest. She's already mated to Chance and had 5 offspring, 3 of which live with us. Sadly I don't have a mate because of the lack of female interection." He replied in a slightly sad tone but he shook his head and looked into her eyes. "Do you have a mate?"

Aranya almost sighed in relief when he discovered that he wasn't mated before grinning back at him. "I also dont have a mate. Other phoenii in my nest tried to set me up with one before but it didn't work out so well..." She cringed slightly at that memory as it was still fresh in her mind.
She made sure to lock her eyes with his again. For some reason it calmed her down enough to smile softly at him.

Blui gave Aranya a sympathetic look and plucked up enough courage to shuffle round and stand closer to her. He was still locking eyes as he spoke. "I know how that feels. Missie is always nagging me to find a mate, Midna has found a mate and keeps boasting that its so wonderful. The 3 offspring are now looking for mates.....it's so lovey-dovey in my nest at the moment!" He announced with a loud sigh and sweatdropped, realising how pathetic he must sound. "And then there is me, the male phoenii who can't get a mate......."
