So I borrowed a mates PS2 controller today, so I can get back on the awsome Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. I thought to celebrate, I would open this thread and invite people to compile a list of all the hidden goodies, easter eggs and kool s**t in the game. Here is all the stuff I can recall, or have added from posts:
Kool s**t - If you make the enemy hungry enough by destroying the nearby food storage, and leave rotting food in the open, they will eat it in desperate attempts to satisfy their hunger. The enemy soldier will then rush to the toilet with urgent bowel irritation.. - If you unlock "the pains" costume (the one who uses bees), your fists will atract bees and do more damage melee - When you verse "The Sorrow" you actualy walk through every enemy you have killed so far in the game. Hypothetically, if you are skilled enough to avoid confrontation and use passive take downs eg.tranqualisers, you would only walk through the few enemies killed off as part of the games story - During the FMV sequences, you can sometimes look through Snakes eyes. This usualy involves Snake perving on Eva, or reveals a hint through the helpfulness of "The Sorrow". - You can throw poisonous creatures at the enemy, for example, snakes. - You can tune in to soem old-style radio stations using the Codec.
Awsome Unlockables - You can unlock costumes designed after the differant "snakes" by defeating them with passive means - By completing every "Ape Capture" levelm, you unlock a mask similar to the monkeys of Ape Escape - "Boss Battle" is unlocked by completing the game, as is "Movie Theatre"
Easter Eggs - Kermit Toys that *ribbit* when shot - If you say you have played MGS2 at the beggining, Snake drops down with a Raiden mask on - If you say you have played MGS at the beggining, Snake drops down with sideburns like in the original - When versing "The Boss", there are 3 snakes in the grove: Solidus Snake, Liquidus Snake and Solid Snake - When Snake first encounters Ocealot (the young Revolver Ocealot) he is wielding a normal handgun. Snake comments on his styles and habits, and notes that he would find better ability with a revolver, the gun which Ocealot is later famous for using.

I happen to be a master at MGS3. I have beaten the game 15 times, and it still never gets old.
*note: Things highlighted in red is Subsistence only.
Kool s**t
- This is just something minor, but unlike the other MGS games, when you kill someone and look at them with the Thermal Goggles, they're heat stays there. In MGS 1 and 2, the body heat would slowly disappear.
- At the part when Snake gets captured and put into a cell, save the game and quit. Reload your file, and he will be having a 'bad dream'. You get to play a mini game, which is actually a game that was under development by Capcom at the time MGS3 was made. They never finished it, though.
- If you get the 'crocodile cap' and wear it in an area where there are crocodiles, they will be more aggressive them usual.
- In the game's extra features, you get to play the original first 2 Metal Gear games for the NES. The second game was never released in the US untill now. And also, the story for both of them takes place after MGS 3 and right before MGS1.
Awesome Unlockibles
- If you beat a boss by lowering their stamina, you get their special camouflage pattern. The End and The Sorrow are a bit different, though. The End will drop his Mosin Nagant Tranquizer sniper rifle in the spot where you kill him, rather then a camouflage drop. You get the Sorrow's camouflage by making it to the end of his 'level'. You will find it in your inventory when you wake up.
- To get The End's Moss Camoflauge, you have to sneak up behind him. This works best with the Sorrow's Spirit Camoflauge, since it quiets your footsteps. Now, once behind him, take out your shotgun and hold him up with it. He will get on the ground. Aim it at him a couple of times, and he will say "Fine. Take it" And throw a box. Pick up the box, and thats the Moss camoflauge.
- When you put Raicov into the locker, and come back later, (when you place the C3 Explosives on the shagohod) look in his locker again. You will find the Sneaking Camo.
- Get every level in Snake v.s. Monkey in first place, and you will get the Banana Camo.
- Collect every plant and animal in the game, and you get the EZ gun. Alternatively, start the game on Very Easy mode.
