From the other thread, someone (Nymphie?) asked for ideas about elections... *quotes self about the idea for repeated mod elections* I mean, if anyone wants to read it... >_>( ) Sibeiko Probably something with a little bit of time, but short enough that it doesn't seem like they're there forever... A month maybe? and yeah... an ironed down election would be much better... something like everyone's names go up (however they've been "nominated") and the people pick who they like the best, then out of the... top 10? run another election, and pick the top 5? (that'll help get the people in who the guild would rather be there... just running one election vote will likely wind up with a whole bunch of people with a couple of votes... but the second will narrow it down to who the guild wants...) I'd say that the potential mods names' shouldn't be revealed... that what they do, personality quirks and whatnot be stated... and that voting should be done by pm's... so there's no "sheepvoting" or the like... but that's just my take... o_o

My suggestion if you need new crew members at anytime is that people are randomly selected to be crew every two months. This will eliminate any bit of popularity contest or voting thing.
Each person selected will be pm'ed about it. If one declines then some one else will be randomly selected. The first couple weeks will be a monitering process for the new crew members and if anything is seen to be dissatisfactory then they will be notified about it and asked to change the problem. If the problem is not changed then they will be removed and another will be selected. After the monitering period, they will be able to go about their buisness of being crew members. There would be an occasional check in with them to make sure that they are doing their jobs.
Before hand there would have to be a list of names of people who would want to be considered fro crew positions.

I had and idea to get more members in the guild if you're interested. You could host a mini sniper game in the forums once a month or something and make it only 50 people say and set time limits to make it shorter, like to have it only 3-5 days and the sniper wins at that point or to have voting and updates every half-hour for 2 or 3 hours and then end it. Something like that so outsiders can get a look at the guild without flooding the guild with outsider posts and scamming. So people could see what we're about and the commitment neccessary before the take up space in the game and go inactive.

Okay, so I am thuroghly confused about the Skeleton Dance and how it issupposed to work. I also went to the Guide and nothign was said about it. Is it just an addition for THIS game or to the rest of the games as well?
And I thought it was much easier for people that DON'T have a lot of time to read through the update, to just see the summary of what went on, like:
Sniped: [USERNAME], Killed: [USERNAME], Jailed: [USERNAME] Sort of like when Zae used to run the game.

In GUILD V1.0 there was very clearly a "I'M CONFUSED ABOUT THIS GAME I CAN POST MY QUESTIONS HERE" thread, I know the Guild & Game guide serves the same purpose by combining the questions thread with the rules thread, but it's not very clear until you reach the bottom
Someone might want to change the title stating you can ask questions there, and people will read them
As a side-note, the sub-forum list in that thread is outdated

The reason this was stopped is because many people skip the update and just read that because they're lazy. This way, people actually read text by the person they elected. If we didn't read the text, that why need a GM to spend time on it? Just put "Okay. Day 8: Jeff's dead. Carl's Jailed."

I think if they at least bolded who was sniped, and jailed IN the story, that'd be good.

I always read the updates, if not when I vote because I'm rushing, then later that day or the next day in the archives. There are some times when it's necessary to vote and run.

I'm a little confused as to why the GM isn't allowed to choose whether the game is played in a thread or in the guild. They're the ones running the show, shouldn't they be allowed to choose what would work best with their style of GM-ing?

the posthuman apparatus I'm a little confused as to why the GM isn't allowed to choose whether the game is played in a thread or in the guild. They're the ones running the show, shouldn't they be allowed to choose what would work best with their style of GM-ing? If running it in a thread works well this time we'll be alternating between thread and guild. So the people who want to GM in a thread can apply for games played in the thread, and ones who want to gm in the guild can apply for games played in the guild. So they can choose which one they want to do.
No gm has wanted to play in a thread yet. At least none that have been chosen. We need some serious advertisement, which is why we want to make a thread. I mean only 68 people played last game and that is REALLY sad. If we waited until a gm got chosen that wanted to play in the thread we would be waiting for ever, and we would keep on dying. And that would be really emo.

Maybe there's a reason there hasn't been a GM willing to host a thread. I would find it extremely boring, & it would severely limit the options of the features I could include in the game. This has really discouraged me from applying this round, even after the work I put into my app :[
...I can still apply to be a hooker tho, right?

All the gm does in the guild is post the update. It is very easy to post an update in a thread.
And the voting would be the same. It could still be in the guild. Or in a journal. Whichever the GM prefers. There could still be votes for multiple things.
I really dont see how gming will be any different.
And yes you can apply for hooker ^-^
