So where I'm from [WA USA] I've begun to notice alot of young ladies [ages spanning anywhere from 14 and up] suddenly throwing themselves out of the closet and announcing to the world that they are bisexual. Well more power to them right? Wrong I had a chance to talk with one of them [age 16] and I was shocked to discover that this girl had never even been with a girl, dated or had any sexual relations with. I continued to investigate to discover that many of these girls were the same way. And being the nosey person I am, I sat down with a few of them and asked them some questions only to be shocked [again] that many of them, at the mere discussion of girl x girl relationships. were more then a little bit "grossed out" or "disturbed." One girl I even got a reaction such as, "That's gross why would anyone want to screw another girl." So I made sure to give the girls the definition of what it means to be bisexual and they still all agreed that they were in fact bisexual. even though the thought of girl relationships disturbed them. There was one girl who told me this, "If I had to kiss a girl I guess I would. I mean, if I did then boys would think I was sexier and want to date me more."
So my conclusion? Suddenly liking girls has become a new "fad" that some girls think will make boys like them more.
Note: if you are truly bisexual [have had girl relationships] then this is not directed at you

It definately is a fad to be bisexual right now. Though I must say that you cant assume someone isnt Bisexual because they have never had a relationship before.

Bisexuality isn't just a trend with girls. A lot of guys (mostly the "emo" ones) are 'coming out of the closet' as bisexual or gay, often because a lot of girls (mostly the "emo" ones) think that gay men in general are "teh smecks." Sometimes the kids who claim to be bi and aren't are just trying to experiment with their sexuality (and failing). idk, could you still be considered bisexual if you only wanted to have a platonic relationship with a woman? confused

So how about virgins? Someone who hasn't been with an other of either the same or the opposite sex - they simply don't have a sexuality?
I think it's pretty close-minded to say that everyone is straight until proven the opposite.
And if someone can't be bi/gay until they've been with someone of the same sex
NOONE WOULD EVER BECOME BI/GAY!!!
because they wouldn't sleep with a same-sexer if they weren't bi/gay in the first place!!! scream
Excuse my horrible grammar, but your post upset me a bit out of concentration. Even though, yes, I have been with an other girl.
People will always jump on trends, though, and yes, being bi is a trend. I'm right with you there.

I don't understand how you can be bisexual if you ... don't like people of the same sex. o.o

Who cares?!

Who cares?! But it's not neccesary for you to completely freak out over it. It's likely some big argument will now ensue. I've never been with a girl. I've never even kissed a girl. That doesn't mean I'm not a lesbian. Please try to calm down or something.

Who cares?! Have to agree with you, Emi. I had plenty of lesbian and straight friends who, when I was a virgin, would frequently say: "How will you know until you've tried?!" It made me cranky.

I understand what you're saying, but the bit about being a REAL bisexual=having been with someone of the same sex pissed me off to much to really get into this discussion.
Yes, it is a fad. Yes, it is annoying. Especially if you're genuine and everyone just thinks you're a dumb kid following a fad.
